Chapter Five

Very early the next day, Sarah and her brother got prepared for school that day. Unknowingly to Sarah, something bad was waiting for her. Sarah got to school on time, so did her brother.

Sarah noticed that all the girls were nicer to her. She couldn't fathom what was going on. She thought they were just being nice but they were pretending.

All the girls in the class respected each other so much such that they would be no meeting in the absence of anyone.

The girls had all called for a meeting, Sarah wanted to also join the meeting but she was denied access by them. Sarah knew that no one was ever denied access except if the person's birthday was around the corner which they would plan a surprise party, and her birthday was the previous month. She didn't know what was going on but she did not take it seriously.

In the meeting, the girls discussed how they would get canes. Mira, the master planner, was assigned the duty of providing canes. To avoid being reported, the girls decided to get masks to be worn on their face to avoid being recognized. Ella was assigned the duty of making masks for them.

It was soon closing time. The girls already had the materials they needed to strike. Marinette succeeded in convincing Sarah to the bush pathway. Marinette lied that she forgot something in school and pretended like she was going to school but she went to the girls in their hiding spot and told them to wear their masks, take their canes and flog her.

They flogged her and bruised her skin. After flogging her, the girls ran away. Marinette came back and saw Sarah on the floor badly injured. She asked her what happened and she explained. Marinette consoled her and later went home leaving Sarah to her fate.

When Sarah got home, her mother asked her what happened. She explained again and her mother warned her not to follow any friend to a place she did not know. She heeded her mom's advice and never followed any friend to an unknown place.
