My Fairy Tale with the Alpha

Chapter 1 Alana's POV

In school, we learn of how King's married their children off for wealth and power. In a pack we learn, we are destined to be someone's everything. This is the most truest bond a wolf can have. They will share feelings, dreams, and have only true love for eachother, they literally can not live without each other.

Around a wolves fifth birthday, the elders of the pack will meet at the Temple of Goddess and predict our mates. If we are lucky, we will learn that we have been mated inside our own pack. Not everyone is that lucky, though. Of course, we don't understand or fully get the picture until later in life. I just knew as a child that I was to behave because one day, I would be the Luna of the Horizon Moon pack. This is the highest of honors amoung wolves, many little girls dream of it. For me, it meant I was fated to my best friend Ian. Both of us were excited growing up knowing this and waiting for the mate bond to activate.

I watched as my friends grew older, and their bonds became so absolute that you could see it like an orb around them. They physically ached if they were apart, yet Ian nor I seemed to feel this way. Of course, our bond grew over the years, like two kids in love. I would lay my life down for him, but my body did not ache for him. At this point, I believed we were the only virgins of our senior class.

My friends told me about mating with their mates, and it resembling their bodies burning for the other. Ian must not feel that for me because he has never made a move. When I asked him about it, he simply replied, "It's probably better if we wait until marriage." That way their is no chance of illegitimate aires. He is always so practical, compassionate, and loving that this all seems totally reasonable. So, we will wait until our wedding night. It was my idea to wait to mark each other until then, too. It adds so much to the fairy tale, the two most passionate things we can do on the most important night of our lives.

I would simply wait for him. It was easy to keep myself distracted for the rest of the senior year, I was head cheerleader and also have Luna training every day. I have been trained in fighting, battle, empathy, basically being a badass angel on earth. It was overwhelming at first, but now it's all second nature to me. I am expected to be perfect in every way for my Alpha and pack.

My Dad is the beta of the Horizon Moon pack. He has been Alpha Conrad's best friend since childhood. My mother came from the Bright Moon pack across the river. She mated to my father and joined his pack. Alpha Conrad soon gained control of the Bright Moon pack and sent his younger brother to be the Alpha in charge. His brother mated to my mothers sister, bringing our families even closer. It will be the most comfortable thing marrying into a family that we have all been so close to our whole lives.
