Twelve years old and changes to their bodyʻs have the girls on edge. Yazzy and Hyacinth are developing as they should but Yarrow and Holly could use some help.         “I wish I had bodyʻs like you two” Yarrow complained why Holly kept quiet just observing her sisters.          “Well, Iʻm sure itʻll happen soon. I donʻt like these boobs. Boys are starting to stare and itʻs making me uncomfortable” says Yazzy “did you know that yesterday, that dumb kid Lawrence asked if they were real and wanted to touch them!” she blurted out, Hyacinth turned to her with a scowl on her face         “He did what?!!” yelled Hyacinth, she was filled with rage from hearing that someone would even do something like that to a girl, let alone her sister. Poor Lawrence would meet her wrath very soon         Yazzy sensing her sister's frustration said “Donʻt worry Cinth, he wenʻt home with a black eye and busted lip” she giggled.         “Lawrence is lucky he is still alive. He had better learn a lesson, or he wonʻt be alive soon” Hyacinth promised.          The girls were growing up beautifully. You could see the women just beneath the surface. Now that Jordan was no longer a threat, the girls could go to school with other kids their age but Grandma Grace still kept her home under protection. She didnʻt need a bunch of people knowing where she lived. She was content with her life of peace. Well, that is, peace with 4 giggling girls, 5 counting Charlie.          “Quin-Cee, weʻre going to the mall today, so we wonʻt be training” Yarrow matter of factly says         “You will go to the mall when your homework, chores AND your training is completed and not before. You know the rules?” Queen Constance tells them         “But Quin-cee, all our friends will be meeting up at the mall so we can go to the movies.          “Sorry girls, not my rules. You know who you need permission from” Constance tells them         “Well, I guess just forget it then cause we know Mamaʻs gonna say the same thing” Yarrow sulks          As time went by the girls got smarter. Theyʻd wake early to do their chores before leaving for school. Did their homework during free time and lunch at school and when they came home, they only needed to train for a couple hours then could go out with their friends. But their mama also got smart and though she was proud of them for managing their time, her only 3 rules was that the girls be in the house before the streetlights came on. This meant that during the summer months, they could stay out longer and had to be in earlier during the winter months. Second, they are ALWAYS to stay with each other, not going off alone. All four or none at all. Third, that their phones have tracking so she knows where the girls are at all times.  This worked out well for everyone.          But of course, youngʻuns will always test their boundaries. Grandma warned them against it. Their training and backgrounds are very well known, however, the girls never made others feel uneasy around them or talked down or belittled anyone. This was something instilled in them by their great-grandmother and mother. The girls feared the repercussions especially from their mother, who, though is loving, caring and thoughtful, will give you an ass-whooping if you disrespect anyone, especially Grandma Grace or Quin-Cee. Their sister Hyacinth got a flippant mouth with Grandma Grace once not realizing their mother had just popped in at that exact moment to hear it. If horns hadnʻt grown outta their mamaʻs head! Hyacinth saw the wrath of their mother's scorn when it came to the 2 people she treasured. The other 3 girls bore witness as well. It was a hard lesson for Hyacinth but one that was needed to show the girls that if you can disrespect your own elders, that ish would carry on to others. They were always told that their actions are a reflection of their upbringing and mama would be damned if her girls disrespected everything she fought hard to attain and the legacy she would be leaving to her daughters. Hyacinth never forgot the look in their mamaʻs eyes and it scared her. Exactly what her mama was hoping to accomplish.          The girls were spending alot more time at Minnewanka Lake as well. Theyʻre pull to the Sirens was getting much stronger and they knew the prophecy was working itʻs way into their lives and those of their lake friends. Grant and Ro took them out to the Sirens on one of their many family trips. They loved their girls' connections to the Sirens and it was always a pleasure to see their lake friends.          “Girls, always nice having you visit” Princess Sea-Lia squealed         “Hi Princess” the girls smiled “always nice seeing you as well. How are the babies?” they asked         “Oh, they are very well thank you. I wish Mother would allow me to bring them to the surface, I know theyʻd loved to meet you all. Sea-Rian is a handful and little Lake-Ford is just starting to grow in his tail fins” the Princess boasted         “They must be so adorable!” Yarrow said as Sylus came to the surface to greet them         “Hey there ladies, nice seeing all of you. Has my mate been talking your ears off about our little fryʻs?” he asked         “Itʻs all we wanna hear is how cute they are. Hope we get to meet them one day soon” Hyacinth exclaimed.         “Well, why donʻt you ladies come on in, the water is beautiful today” Sylus beckoned and that was all it took as the girls took off their outer clothes and jumped in with their matchy-matchy swimsuits.          Grant and Ro sunbathed on the boat while Ro read her thriller novel. As the girls giggled and swam with the sirens Grant just watched in awe at their friendship. He moved closer to the stern of the boat and let his legs dangle in the water. It felt cool and refreshing.          “Come on in Papa! The water is great” Holly called out as Jazzy splashed her Papa. He kicked back water toward the girls and had them giggling with laughter. It caught Roʻs attention as she sat up to watch the playful banter of her mate, her daughters and the sirens. Although she had to admit, the sirens had a full finʻs up on Grant as they used their mighty tails to splash him. He was soaked in seconds so he jumped in for some water fun.         “Come in Mama, come join us” the girls called out and Ro dropped her robe and jumped in as well.          While swimming, the sirens stopped as the water started to swirl. They bowed as Queen Sea-Bree came to the surface. She nodded at her choir and they continued with their water play. She approached Ro as Ro bowed in her presence and the Queen nodded in approval. She looked at Ro, studying her mannerism and looked over to the girls and did the same. She smiled as she saw why the girls were so respectful to her and her choir. It was because of the aura that their mother exhumed and instilled in them and she was thankful for that. She reached out her hand and Ro willingly took them in a sign of forever friendship. But in doing so, Ro was instantly telepathically shown the Queenʻs story of love and heartbreak. She then understood the importance her girls played in the Sirenʻs freedom.
