“Papa and Mama are calling a family meeting. What do you think they wanna talk about?” asks Holly
“I think it has to do with us starting to shift to sirens. Yazzy and I havenʻt even shifted to our wolves yet, I wonder how the whole siren thing is gonna work?” Hyacinth chimes in
“It is exciting though, isnʻt it” its Yarrow now asking
“Oh very, I canʻt wait to be able to swim to Lake City and finally meet the babies. And see whatʻs down there” says Yazzy
Ro and Grant have teleported to Graceʻs home for the family meeting with the girls, Grace and Constance. They have dinner and sit in the living area of the greenhouse as Grace makes coffee and cocoa for everyone.
“Well, we called this meeting because of what happened when we were on the Lake. To fill Grandma and Quin-cee in, we were on the lake so the girls could spend time with the sirens. Well it seems that their prophecy is beginning as they are starting to shift. Not into wolves or sorceressʻ but into sirens. There hands had started to web and Queen Sea-Bree says their fins will come in next and their gills will complete the process. They will be able to shift back when out of the water and with underwater breathing practice they will be able to travel the depths to Lake City” Ro explained to Grace and Constance who listened intently
“Thatʻs extraordinary!” Quin-Cee exclaimed “but wait, how will that work with the prophecy beginning, them shifting and living here?” she finished
“Well, thatʻs what this family meeting is for. We know that in order to help our lake friends, the girls will need to have continued access to the lake. So we need to figure out how we are gonna do this” Ro remarked
“Grant and I were thinking since merging the company and working out of both locations we could move the business to Minnewanka Lake and run the company from there. The mining side of course would need to continue at Athabasca, but that should pose no problem. However, before we make the decision, we wanted to see how you and Constance felt. But most importantly, how would you girls feel about moving to Minnewanka? Youʻd be leaving all of your school, friends and life here. We want you girls to have a say in the decision as well” Ro articulated
You could see Graceʻs eye start to gloss over at the thought of the girls leaving. She knew it would happen, but she wasnʻt expecting it to happen so soon. Constance walked over to her, sat beside her and brought her in for a hug. The girls watch the movements of their 2X2ʻs and realized the impact this was having on their grandmothers.
“Girls, donʻt you fret about us lil old ladies here. You have a responsibility to our lake friends and we wonʻt be the reason you donʻt fulfill your destinyʻs. Besides, we can teleport over anytime we wanna see you and you can teleport here anytime as well. We are very happy for you all” Grace fretted
“I do want you to realize though, that you little women are still quite young getting ready to start this journey usually fit for adults. Take counsel from your parents and your elders who love you. Make sure when they speak and give you advice, that you listen. We didnʻt get this old by making mistakes. There will be times when split decisions will need to be made. Make sure you make them with your heart and not let anger decide your fate. Also know that there is danger with every prophecy, some deadly. Remember whoʻs daughters you are. Should you fall, pick yourself up, dust yourself off and straighten your crown!” Grace boasted
“Okay girls, the decision is now yours. You have the support of your 2X2ʻs and your Papa and I. We will give you time tonight to talk among yourselves and you can give us your answer tomorrow. Should you decide that youʻd like to stay here, we will honor your decision. Weʻd work out a schedule where youʻd need to teleport to Minnewanka. These could be considered training time as well. But if you decide to make the move to Minnewanka, we would set up the communion there for your continued training. Beginning tomorrow, regardless of where you girls are at, training will be beefed up solely because of the circumstances you will be heading into” Grant informed the girls
“Additionally, I will be speaking to Queen Sea-Bree to see if there are any underwater training you girls should be taking to ready you for anything that could happen at Lake City” Ro chimed in
“Whoa! All of this information is making my head spin! There is so much to take in! I thought this would be a piece of cake, but now hearing about deadly danger, underwater training, beefed up training, I dunno, seems like alot” Yazzy grumbled and Ro gave her a glaring look that had Yazzy wishing she could take back what she said
“Arenʻt our lake friends worth the extra effort” Holly whispered “donʻt we love them enough to help them? I mean, we know their history, their heartache and we can be a part of their happy future. Donʻt you want that for them Yazzy? Iʻm sure theyʻd want that for you” she finished
“Yes, Yazzy you are right. Please forgive me. Grandma, Iʻm sorry. You just explained that we should listen to advice and I just let it go right over my head when I selfishly thought of myself first” Yazzy shameless said and she looked to the floor. As she looked up to her mother apologetically, Ro nodded her approval.
“Alright girls, you have a lot to think about. Let us know tomorrow if youʻre staying or moving and we will go from there” Grant voiced.
The girls got up and asked to be excused. They headed downstairs to the TV room to discuss things among themselves.

“So, there are no ifʻs, andʻs or butʻs about us helping the choir. But we need to decide whether we are staying here or going to Minnewanka” Yarrow groaned “maybe we should take a vote?”
“Well, how about on the count of 3 we all say where we want to be. Black Lake or Minnewanka” Hyacinth says and the girls agree.
“One---Two---Three---MINNEWANKA!” they say in unison and break out in laughter.
“Well, that was easy enough. I guess we can go let our parentals know” says Yazzy
“But before we do that, can I just say it hurt to see the tears in Grandmaʻs eyes. Can we all promise to make it a point to teleport home on the weekends and spend time with our 2X2ʻs” Holly said softly as they all came in for a group hug before running up the stairs giggling
“Okay!” they shouted, “we made our decision!”
“Well that was quick,” Constance said smiling
“Yup, weʻre going to Minnewanka!” Yarrow said as they smiled and everyone came in for a hug
“Grandma and Quin-Cee, we promise to come home every weekend to spend time with the both of you,” Holly said as the girls gave their grandmothers extra hugs and kisses.
“Aww, that is so sweet of you. There may be times that we two may come and visit you all and Your lake friends” Constance said
“That would be totally awesome too!” Yazzy exclaimed as their grandmaʻs giggled at their excitement.
“Alright, itʻs settled then. Give your Papa and I a week to get all everything settled with school transfers and such and that will give you girls time to say your goodbyes to your teachers and friends” Ro said
“I hope you guys are okay with goodbyes,” Grant asked
“We are Papa. Weʻll miss our friends but look forward to making new ones and especially helping our lake friends” Holly whispered while Ro looked at her not quite pinpointing what she was feeling emanating from her daughter
“Okay, well why donʻt you girls take your showers and since itʻs still early, you can watch a movie before bed'' Grant finished as the girls ran upstairs yackety yacking about what movie they wanted to watch. The adults watched with amusement and laughed at the sight of their growing baby girls.
“Theyʻre gonna be busy with school and all the extra training,” Grace said
“Thatʻs what Iʻm counting on” said Grant “keepʻum busy and outta trouble is my motto” he laughed
“Looks like we got some work to do in getting everything set up for the girls AND moving the Athabasca office to Minnewanka,” Ro told Grant
“Minnewanka Lake here we come!” Grant smiled nervously while Ro chuckled.
