The Alpha’s Surprising Mate

Chapter Nine

Gabriel’s P.O.V

I had the most fantastic dream last night. I was with Lily and we had mated and even had a pup on the way. The euphoric feeling that overwhelmed me was indescribable but it was cut short as I was awoken by the sound of someone knocking on the door I looked over to see the spot beside me in bed was empty. I couldn’t help but be disappointed.

I got up and went to the door to see Cynthia in a robe, she smiled seductively at me and I wanted to puke. I only had eyes for my gorgeous mate.

“Hi handsome, want some company?” She said as she touched my chest.

Flinching, I responded “No, I don’t. I was sleeping. Go back to your room and sleep. I will speak with you in the morning.”

Pouting, she tried reaching for my d**k. I snarled and pulled back as I slammed the door in her face. How dare she try and touch what is not hers.

I tried to fall back to sleep but was unable so I showered and got ready for the day and became excited to see my beautiful birthday girl. I couldn’t wait to meet her wolf and even Ace was restless with wanting to meet her.

I decided to calm myself down by going for a little walk and as I was on my way back I caught Lily’s enticing scent.

I made sure to wish her a happy birthday and to give her lots of kisses before she had to run in and help with breakfast. I had almost forgotten to ask about her wolf but then she told me the name and Ace went crazy. Freya. What a lovely name. I couldn’t wait to meet her.

Once she was inside, I finished my walk and went into my office to answer a few emails and make some calls before breakfast. I made sure to call Cynthia’s father and explain that I found my mate. He was rather disappointed but completely understood that you can’t help what the moon goddess decides and by the end of the call he actually seemed happy for me.

I had just walked into the dining hall when I heard a screech coming from the kitchen. I quickly made my way in only to see Cynthia about to strike my mate.

Ace was very close to breaking through and tearing her limb from limb but I held him back. The last thing we needed was a war between our pack and hers.

“What is going on here?!” I yelled as Ace struggled to come out.

Cynthia of course immediately played the damsel in distress and threw herself at me. I was momentarily taken back before I saw my mates eyes go from green to black and I knew her wolf took over.

“Get your filthy wh*re hands off my f*cking mate!” I heard Freya snarl.

Oh sh*t.

I instantly put my hands up and removed Cynthia from myself as Freya was about to attack. I knew my beautiful Lily was a non-confrontational person so I wasn’t surprised that Freya stepped in. No one comes between a wolf and their mate.

I had wanted to tell Cynthia myself about finding my mate but given the circumstances I was unable to.

I went over to my beautiful mate and wrapped her in my arms.

“Hello, Freya, it’s lovely to meet you but please let me have my Lily back.” I murmured in her ear. I watched as her eyes flashed between green and blue and finally went green. My beautiful Lily was back and her face went beet red as she hid it in her hands.

“It’s okay my love, don’t be embarrassed. Our wolves have a mind of their own and we sometimes cannot stop them.” I said soothingly to her.

“Do you mind telling me what the f*ck is going on here?!” Cynthia screeched, interrupting me. Goddess she’s annoying. Thank the heavens I didn’t have to mate with her.

I looked at her cooly. “Lilliana is my mate, Cynthia. I wanted to tell you myself but seeing as you are so adamant to attack members of my pack and provoke people, I wasn’t able to.”

She stared at me with her mouth agape. “Ex-f*cking-scuse me?! This is a joke right?! THAT thing is your mate?” She said then laughed. “That’s beyond pathetic. You might as well reject her and take me! I will forgive you for hurting me by even attempting to choose her over me.”

A snarl broke free from me as Ace fought to take over.

“No one talks of our mate like that!” He snarled to me.

“Calm down. I will handle this!”

“I have little patience. Deal with her NOW. Get her the f*ck out of here!”

Cynthia went wide eyed and started laughing hysterically. My beautiful Lily was still wrapped in my arms, thanks to her I was able to hold Ace back due to the mate bonds calming affect.

“Cynthia, I am sorry you feel that way. Lilliana is my mate and I fully intend to keep it that way. You may collect your things and leave my pack.”

“My daddy will have your head for this!” She screamed and stomped her foot. “You are making a horrible mistake!”

“For starters, if your father did try anything I could snap his neck with the snap of my finger and second of all, I have already spoken to your “daddy” and explained everything to him and he was actually pretty happy for me and no, I am most definitely not making a mistake.”

She turned and stomped from the kitchen with a blood curdling scream. I sigh and roll my eyes as I turned to see the kitchen staff huddled towards the walk in fridge scared to move.

“It’s okay, you don’t need to worry. You are all safe and she is to be escorted off the property.” I reassured them. I looked at Agnes, “could you please have breakfast for Lily and I sent to my room.”

“Yes Alpha, of course!” She replied.

Smiling to her I picked up my embarrassed Luna who was still tucked into my side and carried her bridal style to my room.

She refused to say anything and once in my room I sat with her on my lap on the bed and moved her hands from her face. She refused to make eye contact.

“I…I’m so sorry Gabriel. I didn’t mean to lose control. I said such awful things.” She said as tears starting streaming down her face.

I quickly wiped them away. “You didn’t say anything my darling, your little spitfire wolf did.” I chuckled.

She then looked into my eyes, hers shining with fresh tears waiting to fall.

“I should have stopped her but I couldn’t. I didn’t have any control over myself.”

I wrapped her in my arms again and reassured her everything was okay. I couldn’t help but start laughing.

She looked up with me with a confused expression. “What’s so funny?”

“Did you see her face when Freya called her a pathetic blonde bimbo?” I snickered. “It was priceless! I don’t think anyone has ever called her out like that before.”

She smiled as she gently smacked my chest. “Stop it! Don’t encourage Freya!” She laughed.

“Never!” I said then covered her mouth with mine. Our kiss deepened but before long there was a knock on the door.

“That’s probably breakfast!” I said as she got off my lap. I went to the door and an omega brought it in and set it on the coffee table that was between the couch and the flat screen tv that was mounted to the wall.

“Thank you Claudette.” I smiled to her as she smiled in return and left.

“Come eat my beautiful birthday girl.” I said as I grabbed her hand and brought her to the couch.

“Would you like to watch something on TV while we eat?”

She looked shyly at me and shrugged her shoulders. “I haven’t watched tv in many years, I barely even remember it from when I was a child. I mainly played outside or trained with my father but I will watch whatever you prefer.”

I was surprised to hear that, there was still a lot I didn’t know about her. I decided to put a random show on that I thought she might like and she thankfully did. We ate in peace and then afterwards we snuggled on the couch and watched a movie.

I didn’t realize what time it was until my phone started ringing. Looking at the caller I.D I saw it was my mother. I smiled and answered the phone.

“Hello mother, how’s the trip going?” I asked. Her and my father went to her home pack to visit with her brother and sister-in-law.

“It’s going fantastic honey, I just thought I would call and check in and see how everything is going.”

“It’s wonderful, I have some great news to share with you and dad when you get back! Are you still scheduled to come home on time?”

“That’s wonderful darling! I can’t wait! And we are still coming home on Friday. I can’t wait to see you my boy. I miss you!”

I smiled into the phone. “I miss you too mom, tell dad and uncle Richard and aunt Kate I said hi and I miss them!”

“Will do honey, I love you!”

“I love you too!”

I ended the call and looked at my mate who was smiling at me.

“What?” I asked.

“You are so sweet. I’m happy to hear you treat your family so nicely.” She said then kissed my cheek.

I smiled at her and kissed her perfect mouth. We finished watching our movie then I had to get to work.

“I have to work, I will see you later okay?” I said as I got up. She stood up with me.

“Of course! I want to go get some training in anyways, I need to get back at it after being off so long because of my foot.”

“I’ll walk you to training.” I said as I held her hand and we left my room, hopefully soon to be our room.

Lilliana’s P.O.V

Hearing Gabriel talk to his mother melted my heart. He was so sweet and caring. I hadn’t even realized I was staring until he pointed it out.

We were having such a wonderful morning together after everything with the stupid Barbie. I was still a bit upset with Freya for not letting me handle the situation.

“You are too soft. I will not tolerate people treating us poorly. We are of alpha blood. They shall know their place when speaking with us!”

“She is of alpha blood as well!”

“That gives her no right to do what she did and to tell our mate to reject us?! She is lucky I didn’t come back and show her exactly who she was dealing with.”

“Freya. Please. From now on let me handle things unless I absolutely need your help.”

“I will try but I make no promises.”

The movie was soon finished and Gabriel stood saying he had to get to work which was fine by me because I was itching to do some training. With being a slave I wasn’t allowed to train so when I came here and began doing it again I was so excited until the incident with the rogue where I was injured. Gabriel even said to give it extra time to heal before going back.

He walked me home so I could change into work out clothes then walked me to the training field.

I saw Genny waving for me and I turned to him and said goodbye and gave him a quick kiss.

Running over to Genny she was giving me a funny look.

“What’s the look for?” I laughed.

“I didn’t know you guys were making it public.” She said then winked. She knew Gabriel was my mate. With her being my only friend besides Agnes I poured my heart and soul out to her. Like Agnes she agreed that I would make a great Luna but I was still very hesitant.

“It was just a quick kiss!” I flushed.

She laughed at me and then we started warming up. I felt like I had so much more energy now that I had my wolf and I found my reflexes were a lot sharper.

“Damn girl! Slow down!” Genny laughed.

We sparred a bit but Genny quickly gave up.

“Not fair! You’re too advanced for me now!” She half whined half laughed.

I couldn’t help but laugh with her. “I’m sorry! I’ll try taking it easy on you.”

“No way! We need to find you a better partner you’re more compatible with! I don’t want you holding back just because of me!”

After training was finished I went up to speak with Gabriel’s Beta, Jason, who is in charge of the training. He had his back to me as he was picking up some equipment from the ground.

“Hi Jason, could I talk to you for a minute?” I asked.

He turned around and smiled at me. He was very handsome. His hair was black and his eyes were mesmerizing one being blue and the other green.

“Hi Lilliana, what’s up?” He asked. “You did great today by the way! Glad to see you finally got your wolf!”

“Thanks so much! That means a lot to me and me too! She’s great but I’ve learned she’s a bit mouthy.”

That comment earned me a growl from Freya and a laugh from Jason.

“Anyways, I was wondering if you knew of anyone else I could spar with? Genny says I’m too good for her now.” I said with a laugh.

“I’ll spar with you a bit tomorrow to see where you’re at so I can figure out who would be best to put you with, is that alright?”

“That’s perfect! Thanks again!” I said as I start walking away. I didn’t go to the kitchen at lunch but I was determined to help out for dinner.

I went home to get cleaned up before making my way to the kitchen.
