Ignazio’s wealth and influence had catapulted him to titular head of the Tomasini family. Much like a Mafia Don, he pontificated on family matters, helping resolve conflicts, rejecting or placing his stamp of approval on specific individual requests when asked to intercede, and when necessary, wielding his authority to make things happen.
It was fitting that his niece, Anna Marie’s wedding should be commemorated at Ignazio’s opulent home on the Roman hillside. Splendid weather that late November day encouraged guests to meander outside the marbled terrace.
