The Earthworm's Hole

The cold, uninviting winds of North Siberia were a heartwarming hello from the last unscathed place on Earth. The Last Light, as the survivours called the Nuclear Apocalypse of 2043 brought the whole World to a stop. Humanity ceased to advance forward. Instead, it went into a defencive formation for what was about to come. The sheer power of the blasts awakened massive volcanos, caused massive earthquakes and tsunamis. All of which, combined with the Nuclear fallout, meant the absolute death of each and every living creature. Some people managed to find safe places, but from the 9 billion humans, only 50 milion survived. Most of the Animal Kingdoms perished. Only the tiniest survived - Protista, Fungi and some insects from Animalia.
