The giant tripods were monitoring the ground and air. If something were to move, it'll be destroyed by the second. Carl could see a couple of people trying to outrun one of the towering tripods. It dropped a smaller, faster one, which quickly caught up to the poor bastards and mangled them to shreds. Their screams died out in the thick, brownish air. Carl couldn't believe what he was seeing. It was worse than he could've ever imagined.
- When did this all happen?
