Alpha Sebastian swore he would never mark Jade’s Omega wolf until she birthed him children, so the moon goddess made Jade pregnant early in their marriage. But it had turned out to be a curse, something bound to destroy her life. Now, only a contract with the ruthless Lukas Kamari, Lycan King of the Veiled Moon pack, can save her.

Chapter 1: His Mark
JADE “Where’s Sebastian?!” I scream with tears in my eyes, grabbing the hand of the pack midwife and almost ripping it off her arm. None of them want to meet my gaze, and my eyes roll back into my head. Another painful wave of contractions hitting me. Screams tear through me. I need him. I can’t do this without him here. “Did you tell the Alpha the baby’s coming?” The pack doctor appears uneasy, rubbing her palms on her thighs and coming closer. “He had to go hunting with some good friends. I don’t think he’ll be able to make it.” My face falls. I swallow my hurt, but it stings so hard just like the contractions. I’ve waited seven months to give birth to his baby, so he can finally mark my wolf. But Sebastian had become distant lately. I was secretly hoping the birth of our baby would bring us closer again. He will mark my wolf and complete the matebond between us after today. And then, pack wolves can stop murmuring about our relationship and my wolf's suffering can finally end. “Luna, I’m afraid there’s a problem,” the doctor calls my attention and I try to look up from the pillow, “The positioning of the baby is wrong. Omega wolves can only give birth normally. If we try anything else, it may harm you.” My heart stops. I feel it start to shatter. “What…What are you saying?” “It’s risky for you and the baby because of the positioning…” I tune the doctor out when she implies that, covering my face with the back of my arm as tears spill out. How am I supposed to go through this alone? My sister’s attitude towards me had only gotten worse over the months. She would never come to my help. I have no one else to be here with me. “Eliza, Is there anything we can do to save my baby?!” I groan in pain, gripping the sheets and baring my teeth. “There’s a medication that can force the cub to come out by itself, but that may also put you in danger.” I bob my head immediately. “Do it, Eliza. Now!” The pack doctor turns away from my bed and shuffles through a work cabinet with rollers. She pokes a needle into my arm and it stings. But at the instant, the pain I feel triples. It’s like something’s trying to claw out of me literally. Blood seeps out, staining my thighs and the white maternity gown I have on. I scream in extreme agony and the pack doctor begs, “Just a little longer, Jade! Your cub is almost here.” I twist and try to turn on the bed, but arms fix me back to a spot. The pain almost blinds me. I start to see white spots in my vision, but minutes later, the soft cry of a baby stops time completely. I laugh, “Did I do it?” “Yes! Here’s your boy, Luna Jade.” The pack doctor is handing me my child when a terrible pain strikes my stomach. “Ahhh!” I grab the bars on the headrest while she quickly gives my baby to a midwife and rushes to check what’s happening. “Sebastian,” I scream through the pains, still needing him when he’s so far away. “It’s—It’s another one.” She marvels. “You’re having twins!” Not long after, I hear the cry of another baby again while I lay weak in my pool of blood on the bed. The pack doctor Eliza brings the baby over. “This one’s a girl,” she says, and my smile is weak but content. I hold my children one after the other in my arms, feeling my heart soar. I didn’t think a person could love this much until I met them. They just arrived, but they already mean the world to me. The door to my ward suddenly barges open and a maid rushes inside, whispering something to the pack doctor. Eliza’s eyes go wide and she snaps at her midwives, “The Alpha is one his way. Clean the babies up swiftly!” Sebastian’s here. I can’t hide the wide smile that instantly comes on my face. We may have had a rough few months, but a baby is what we’ve both always wanted. They will solidify our relationship. I struggle to sit up and Eliza grabs my arm when I almost tumble to the ground. “What are you doing, Luna Jade?!” she warns in a concerned voice. “My husband is coming. I have to greet him.” I stand on my feet, rocking slightly, but she keeps me steady while I hold my stomach, still dressed in a bloodied white gown. The door opens and Sebastian walks into the room, wearing leather from his hunt. His wavy black hair frames his face while he stands as tall as a tree. Eliza and everyone else bows. “Welcome, Alpha. Your babies have been born.” “Babies?” He’s pleasantly surprised I’ve not just given him one heir, but two. A boy and a girl. Though I have just realised I never thought of any names for them yet. Eliza hands him both babies and he cradles our children in his arms, smiling and radiating fatherly love. I can watch him all day with them. It warms me. I approach my husband, still rocking slightly on my feet. He glances at my wrecked state and the look in his eyes is vague. “What should we call them?” I ask in a weak voice, standing right next to him. “Kyson and Avalee Thorne. My children.” I spare a warm smile. “I love their names, Sebastian. But will you mark me now, please?” I ask, my expression hopeful because of the peaceful moment. These babies have united us. If he marks me now, my wolf Ava will get stronger and she will heal from all the pain I’ve just suffered. It has also been seven months since we mated. I finally fulfilled the condition he gave me. Children. But Sebastian just shakes his head. “Omegas have no business with marks. You are weak, Jade. I deserve better than you.” My heart’s thudding in my chest and my knees wobble. A tear streams down my face. He can’t mean that. After everything I’ve just been through to finally be accepted by him wholly. “Sebastian, please.” I double over from the pain burning in my chest, still clutching my stomach. He just shakes his head again, holding my children like they now belong solely to him and like I no longer have a place here in his home. “I, Sebastian Thorne, reject you, Jade Ortega as my mate and Luna forever.”
