Attacked

Gentle shakes slowly tried to wake me up while my brain was still dreaming. I imagined warm hands on my shoulder, gently saying my name as they tried to wake up. I pulled my blanket over me and felt a smile spreading across my lips until there was a rough pull and I fell down on the floor.  “What the-” Standing up there was no one in the room but the ship was rocking back and forth, already making it hard to stand.  “We are being under attack!” I heard Sylas voice yelling. Barely having time to dress up I just pulled on a shirt and a pair of pants before running out from the room, everyone being a mess and suddenly awoken from their sleep. I quickly ran towards the large window and saw ropes leading towards a large ship, slowly pulling us closer to them.  Tristen placed his hand on my shoulder and pulled himself closer. His eyes were wide as if he noticed something and he quickly pressed his lips together. Then he turned back around and ran towards Sylas and Krish.  “Grab your weapons, quickly! This isn’t going to be easy.” He sighed while the other two quickly summoned their weapons.  “Dahlia, send Valerie and Zayn to position then wait at the exit of the ship.” “Yes, captain.” My feet quickly picked up the pace right after and ran towards Valerie’s and Zayn’s room. Zayn was already getting dressed and so was Valerie, they didn’t finish when they saw me.  “Captain said you should get into position” Zayn gave a quick nod while Valerie walked right past me, rushing towards where she was supposed to be. At the cannons.  Not wasting any time I went to the exit where Krish already stood who was about to put on a mask.  “Tristen told me you can place barriers. Can you put it around the whole ship?”  “Haven’t done that before but I can try.”  “You better.” He pushed the button making the door open then he threw a mask at me as well.  “We’re going out. Whip anyone who tries to sneak in” Not giving me any time to answer he climbed up to the top of the ship. Putting on the mask as quickly as possible then summoning the whip I followed soon after.  People were already climbing the ropes at incredible speed towards our ship. Krish has laid down on his stomach, his gun in position and he began to shoot, almost never missing. The shots had slowed them but it didn’t stop them. The sound of the cannons firing was heard, shooting the enemy ship which only made movement slightly, barely leaving a scratch.  It didn’t matter how many times Krish fired, the men kept going forward. When they let go of the rope and floated away, more kept coming. When they got too close to our ship I used my whip to grab them and throw them anyway which helped at first but then they were an overwhelming amount of people on top of the ship. Some had also entered the ship.  “Dahlia, that barrier would come in handy now!” Krish had stood up, switching his gun into a more close-range one and kicked the enemies away when they got too close. My heart was pounding as Krish kept telling me to hurry up but it was hard to concentrate. The only barrier I could make was around myself. Even when I tried making it bigger it only did by a few inches.  Standing on top of the room didn’t help to stop them from getting into the ship so I quickly swung inside the ship again, using my whip quickly to throw every single one of them off the ship. On my way inside I noticed Tristen using his blood sword as well but when he used it against them, they didn’t bleed nor did they seem to bother. The guy Tristen was currently fighting against simply smirked and pulled out his sword. I quickly ran towards Tristen and extended my whip towards him to shield him before the enemy’s sword had touched him.  “Thanks” He flashed a smile towards me before he pushed the guy away from him, staying determined to keep the cockpit safe. However, Sylas came running from it.  “Tristen… These aren’t regular people…” His eyes were wide and soon summoned his gauntlets.  “I think it’s… Red Captain’s crew” Tristen smiled and laughed as if it was a joke but Sylas didn’t even c***k a smile. Tristen then moved towards the window and took another look at the ship.  “Then the red pirate flag I thought I saw wasn’t a hallucination… But how? How can they? It must be other people following the legacy of the Red captain!” He bit his lip then stomped off towards the exit.  “How’s it going, little brother?” He yelled out to Krish in a teasing manner while Krish was single-handedly fighting off the people.  “A little help would be appreciated you know?” He yelled back and from the sound of his voice, he seemed to be out of breath.   “Dahlia, go up and help him. I will go and try to cut down the ropes. Sylas, go to the cockpit and drive the ship as fast as you can.”  “But you-”  “Just do it. We can handle ourselves.” “Yes… Captain'' Sylas gave a nod then quickly rushed towards the cockpit again. Valerie and Zayn were still shooting at the enemy ship, doing what they could while Tristen and I put on our masks and got up.  Tristen slid down on the edge of the ship and begun cutting down the ropes one by one but by the looks of it seemed extremely sturdy, taking a couple of second for Tristen to actually be able to cut it off.  Krish was still at it, shooting and kicking away enemies which from afar almost looked like an elegant dance. But there was one guy that sneaked behind Krish. Running over I grabbed the guy who was behind him and threw him to the side.  “Glad you decided to help instead of just standing there being useless.” He commented while I rolled my eyes and sighed.  “A thank you would be nice. Did save your life.”  “So I’m the damsel in distress now?”  “By the looks of it.” Another guy appeared behind Krish which I quickly took care of. Then a smirk appeared on Krish’s lips as he took support on my shoulder, aimed then fired. Then we kept watching each other’s backs, counting who saved the other the most, declaring them as the damsel in distress.  While Krish and I were taking care of them and then protected Tristen from any harm, suddenly the enemy ship fired again, attaching new ropes this time. Thicker and sturdier. A shadow was moving around, silencing everyone.  “Well, well, well. Someone is onto my treasure eh? I can’t let that happen…”
