The Red captain

1198 Words
Hearing a confident woman's voice, Tristen slowly turned around to see who it was. That was when all his fears came to reality. It was her, The one and only Red captain. She was wearing a long blood-red coat with gold details. On her head, she wore her captain’s hat proudly as if it was a crown. Her shirt was low cut and revealed a large tattoo of her ship across her chest. She didn’t wear any of her clothing to seduce any man. It was for her, showing the world how bold and proud she is. She crossed her arms while the other two were on her hips. Her eyes were red, her hair was long, slightly curly and dark brown. Her lips were smirking, revealing fangs and blood was dripping down on her chin. Her eyes were filled with hunger.  Tristen glanced back at his crew on top of the ship. Their eyes were filled with shock, looking at him with panic. The captain kneeled down and grabbed Tristen by his shirt, pulling him closer to her.  “Where is the gold watch?” Her voice was filled with determination. That’s when Tristen could take a closer look at her. Her skin was pale and cracked, her fangs only seemed bigger and more unnatural up close.  “What watch? I don’t know what you’re talking about.” Tristen smiled which only led him to be shoved back on the ground then a hard kick from the captain.  “GO AND SEARCH THROUGH THE SHIP!” She roared to her crew who yelled back and picked up the pace to go inside the ship. Tristen’s thoughts only wandered towards Sylas, hoping he won’t be hurt by them. Tristen tried to crawl away from the captain only to receive another kick in the stomach which made him lose his breath.  “Don’t go sneaking now. I won’t leave until I receive that watch. That treasure only belongs to me.” She walked away towards her crew, shouting to them to hurry up. Which is when Dahlia called out to her.  “Looking for this?” She held up the gold watch in her hand. The Red captain’s eyes began to sparkle when she saw the watch. Tristen took his chance to continue crawling away from her. Tristen fell down into the entrance of the ship and slowly stood up despite the pain in his stomach. He hoped it wasn’t something too bad Zayn couldn’t cure. He used the wall to support himself and made his way towards the cockpit.  The sound of Valerie’s gun firing repeatedly was heard from the whole ship. Tristen believed in his crew. He knew they would make it. Especially Sylas thinking of how hard he can actually punch with his gauntlets.  Reaching to the cockpit he saw how Sylas kicked and punched anyone who came close to him, bashing their skulls open then throwing them away. Yet there was no bloodshed. They didn’t bleed at all.  “Tristen!” Sylas dropped the last guy into a pile before running towards Tristen who fell into his arms.  “It is really her… The Red captain is above us, wanting the golden watch.”  “But she died, centuries ago! How could she even be here?” “You’re smart enough to figure it out no?” Sylas rolled his eyes and glanced towards the pile of bloodless corpses.  “In my whole existence have I never heard anything similar to this. It can’t be scientific. It… Must involve magic of some kind. You know how I feel about that.”  “It must be a curse then…” A shot of pain stuck right through Tristen and he began to cough.  “Tristen-” “A curse… Because”  Another cough.  “Because she didn’t… Want anyone to reach… Her treasure.” “Save your energy dammit. Don’t overwork yourself.” Sylas voice was filled with worry as he tried to both avoid the attacks of the enemy crew but also support Tristen.  “Sylas… I-”  “Don’t say anything stupid now! We will get through this like we always do. It’s us we are talking about! We want everything, we’re greedy. We’ll do whatever it takes…” No matter how much Sylas tried to stay positive, Tristen knew how worried Sylas was. His thoughts were probably filled with the worst-case scenario. What ifs, death and more. Tristen only chuckled and stroked his cheek. Sylas eyes were filled with tears when he felt his hand on his cheek than all of his arms around him.  “You’re so kind, sweetie,” Tristen smirked but he didn’t get the reaction out of Sylas he wanted. He’d usually get embarrassed and hit him. But this time it looked like he had hurt him.  “Stop…” He mumbled then took a deep breath. Without saying anything he picked him up then placed him inside their room.  “Stay here.” “But I’m needed, you can’t just-” “You’ll be safe here. I’ll do whatever it takes to keep you safe. So stay here” Then Sylas left and locked the door behind him. Tristen sighed and placed his hands over his stomach. Just being locked up won’t help him. Always a treat when Sylas thinks Tristen is too carefree to take care of himself.  He crawled over to the window then stood up and tried to open it. No matter what he tried he couldn’t open it. For a good reason too. Smashing the door would be a better idea. But for that, he needs his sword… Using while injured never was a good idea. But he did nonetheless, letting blood flow from his arm it began solid and shaped into his trusted sword.  “I’m the captain of the Avaritia Crew. I will do whatever it takes to keep them safe…” Then he sliced through the door and got it. No one was close by. Scouting around he assumed everyone was on top of the ship.  He quickly got into the medical room to bandage himself up somewhat where he took his time to think what would be the most effective thing to do. Assuming they are basically walking corpses… They can’t really die. Killing the Red captain herself would be too ambitious as well. And her information might be needed to find the treasure.  Since everyone was on top of the ship and distracted… He could probably take the chance to quickly cut down the ropes. Probably on their side, however… But he would risk staying behind. But they will find him. He’ll survive.  It will be alright.
