Paradise Planet part 3

Crawling out from my hiding spot she grimaced at me and for a second, seemed worried.  “What happened to you? You look terrible!” I shrugged it off and was just relieved she wasn’t pointing her sword at me, not yet at least.  “Someone beat you to it with the chasing and killing” I could see how her lips began to twitch but she stopped herself from smiling.  “Damn it, seems like I am not the only one who tries to take you out.” She winked. I would have been flattered but I couldn’t help checking the windows, hoping Krish did leave. I felt her hand touch my shoulder and flinched. She quickly moved her hand away and sighed.  “Look, you have a big bounty on your head. I can’t just pass up on that.” She moved closer with handcuffs and I quickly backed away.  “What if I offer you more?” The words just came out of me. I read just an article yesterday about a very legendary treasure that could make anyone, very very rich.  “What?”  “There is this treasure… The one Red Captain buried while she was still alive. No one has been able to find it yet and Tristen is a descendant of the two pirate sisters. They have an heirloom that’s a clue to the treasure.” She stopped in her tracks and seemed to believe me but not completely.  “No way…”  “If you promise not to catch me, I’ll make you very rich. You won’t even have to work as a bounty hunter anymore.” Her expression changed, it sparked hope in her eyes when I mentioned she could stop being a bounty hunter. But that soon disappeared, her eyes narrowing.  “What about your crew?” She raised her brow and crossed her arms. She had all the rights to be suspicious. I could trick her or lie to her.  “I’m sure they will be relieved that they won’t have to worry about bounty hunters coming after us. There is already another pirate fellow who is trying to stop us from our goal.” She hummed then shook her head.  “How do I know you’re telling the truth?” Biting my lip I looked around, trying to find a way out of this.  “W-well… Think about it. isn’t the code of the bounty hunters to be able to take someone alive? The better the reward right? Well, this guy is out for my blood, he would kill me if he got the chance right away, leaving you with nothing. And I wouldn’t stop and let you take me away, I might even end up being killed because of it.” Her eyes flickered. I had a feeling her morale would be high even for a bounty hunter.  “So, why not work together? I’m sure we can keep in contact as well so I can update you on everything. However, my phone was stolen and it’s easy to track everyone nowadays. You keep finding us! No matter how Sylas keeps us hidden under the radar.” She clicked her tongue then began to search her pockets for something. Then she grabbed my wrist and without saying anything she placed an oval looking pill over my skin which my skin then absorbed. It felt incredibly weird but it soon dissolved. Then she placed a bracelet around my wrist with shell decorations.  “This will be our direct link. Even if someone takes the bracelet they won’t be able to track it. It’s linked with the pill. Only you can use it. I’ll wear the matching one.” I touched the bracelet gently and nodded. There is no way out of this now. I’ll have to persuade the rest of the members now too.  “I’ll be looking forward to your call.” She winked once more then let go of my wrist and returned to her ship. A sigh of relief escaped my lips and placed my hand over my heart which was still beating rapidly.  Continuing to treat my injuries more carefully I heard Sylas yelling from the outside. He ran in and seemed to be panicked.  “What happened to the ship!”  “The bounty hunter lady returned. Blew up the door. But I can fix that.” I explained to him but it felt like he didn’t listen. I bit my lip and sighed, trying to bury the feeling of being ignored and hurt. The rest of the people came running as well and they noticed the door at first then me.  “s**t, what happened? Were you attacked?” I nodded, trying to keep my tears in.  “Y-yeah. First by Tristen’s brother. My hotel room is a mess because of it. Then the bounty hunter came and I… Anyway. Because of certain situations, we have to find the legendary treasure of Red captain.”  “The treasure? But no one has been able to find it-”  “That’s because they aren’t descendants of them. You are Tristen.” I felt how some of the wounds began to sting but it was probably just the healing saliva taking effect.  “Now if you’ll excuse me… I’m gonna nap in my room here, and have been trying to avoid death all night.” I gave them a weak smile before quickly returning to my room and let my tears fall. I felt so small, weak and pathetic. I didn’t want them to see that, I didn’t want to force them to comfort me and hug me or whatever. It feels like I caused more problems to them by joining… By being selfish.  A knock was heard and I was caught by surprise. I quickly wiped my tears but more kept coming.  “What now?” I asked through the door, trying to keep my voice as calm as possible but it was difficult.  “It’s just me, Zayn. I thought I could have a look at your injuries. I think you might have used the wrong bandages…” Sighing I opened the door and let him in. He turned on the lights in my room and without saying anything he treated my wounds. He unwrapped my old bandages, which was now covered in pink blood and changed them. They already felt much better on my skin.  “It must have been scary to be chased by someone like that. We’ve been close to death experiences as well which is why they didn’t react but… I wish I could have helped you. I’m sorry Dahlia.” I couldn’t keep my tears in and just buried my face into his chest. I felt his arms wrap around me and didn’t say anything else. But it felt genuine.  “It was really scary…” I whispered and I felt how he nodded. His arms tightened around me but stayed quiet. It was maybe better this way. In his embrace, I felt safe.
