CHAPTER NINE

David's pov:

What the hell is she? One minute, she made me angry, in another she made me crave for her. Ohh..Fucking mate bond.But that was the first time a woman tried to push me away and dared to talk back.I was really shocked that she knew about the attempt of murder and my pack house,it was something that I hid deeply.

"See,our mate is different" said Sam.

"Huh! Is she? I think she is playing hard to get" I mocked.

"You and your excuses.. What I want to say is..I want her and..."

Before he could say any further I blocked him off. I don't want a mate. I am complete on my own. Having a mate means, having a weakness that others can use.

Then I saw Mr. Carter. He walked towards me. He smiled. The smile which reminded me of someone who pissed me of a couple of minutes ago. He was a strongly build man at his fifties. He wore a black suit.

"Thank you, sir for accepting our project." He said.

" The plan was perfect for the project Mr.Carter.What are you doing here? I thought you won't be able to make it today" I asked.

" oh! I came here for my daughter,actually she ordered me to not to come to the meeting, because she said she will take care of it. She really is stubborn and bossy." He said laughing.

Oh, she is also very arrogant, she called me a jerk.

"Oh!  So Ms.Adriana is your daughter. I rode the elevator with her. She was right behind me." I said turning around. I didn't saw her. I furrowed my brows.

Then, the elevator beeped. The doors opened and I saw her walking out.

What the hell? Why she didn't got off? Why would she go up again?

"Ria!" Mr.Carter called out.

She looked at us and started to walk towards us. Slightly panting. Why the heck she is panting? Her clothes were slightly wrinkled. Lots of thoughts flood through my mind, which were not good thoughts.  And her shocked expression which she masked skillfully made me even more angry.

"Dad! Why are you here?" She asked.

"I came to pick you up, darling" he said.

"Then we will be going and thank you Mr.Williams." he said turning towards me.

I smiled and looked at her. She shifted her eyes from me and grabbed Mr.Carter's arm.

"Let's go dad" she said. He looked at her.

"Then." He said and turned towards the exit. I looked at her back. I mind linked Jake.

"Jake"

"Yes, alpha".

" I want every details about Adriana Carter and I want the camera footage of the elevator no: two between tweleve thirty to now. In a hour." I said in a commanding tone.

"Yes, alpha." He said.I cut the link.

"Let's know who you are Adriana." I said to myself.
