The Betrayal
“So it was all fake? Your promises, your love, and our relationship? You planned it all?”
Astrid can barely say those word. She's devastated. She can't believe the things she have heard. On the other hand, her beloved boyfriend, Atticus, just smirked.
“Exactly. I can't believe you actually thought I loved you. You're so gullible, Astrid.”
She remained silent, still trying to comprehend the situation. All her life, she only cared about Atticus. Always bringing him food, following his orders, doing his works and chasing him every single day.
Until one day, her dream has been fulfilled. Atticus confessed his love for her and ask her to be his girlfriend. She was overjoyed. But that happiness didn't last for long. She started to notice red flags in him, but she didn't pay attention to them, she was blinded by love.
Eventually, Atticus’ behaviour worsen. He starts to ask Astrid to do things that's completely unlike her, such as sneaking out during midnight, not attending classes and a lot more rebellious things. But of course, Astrid followed him, disregarding her relationship with her parents.
Then their fifth monthsarry came, she was supposed to surprise him by going to his dorm, but instead, she heard him laughing with his friends. She was about to knock but she heard something, enough to stopped her.
“How long are you going to stay with that nerd? Don't tell us that you already fall for her?”
It's Theo, one of Atticus’ friends. Laughter erupted when he dropped that question.
“Come on, man. I will never. I'm just enjoying having someone do whatever I say. She's like some sort of slave, you know.”
Said by his boyfriend. Another batch of laughter erupted. Then Astrid pushed the door open. And now this, she's confronting him.
“You are so cruel, Atticus. How could you do this to me?”
Her tears are falling. Although there are some sort of guilt in his eyes, he just smirked.
“I hate you, Atticus. I hate you for playing with my feelings. I hate you for making me feel like a dog constantly following her owner's orded. I hate you for making me rebel against my parents. I hate you for being a f*****g asshole! I hate you so much! I hope you get what you deserved, Atticus!”
She furiously said before leaving him there, shocked and guilty.
