Another love chapter one
Stella May walked home from the library, lost in thought. With her beautiful but chilling looking blue eyes and sliver hair feeling down and tired. The crisp autumn air carried the scent of fallen leaves and distant woodsmoke. As she turned onto her street, a chill ran down her spine. She quickened her pace, sensing eyes upon her. Suddenly, a low growl pierced the night, and all she could hear before her world went dark was a haunting whisper: "Mine." Stella slowly opened her eyes, groggily taking in her surroundings. She was in her own bed, surrounded by familiar walls and furniture. Her mum was sitting beside her, a worried expression etched on her face. "Mum...what happened?" Stella asked, her voice weak and shaky. Her mum stroked her hair, trying to reassure her. "You passed out, sweetie. The neighbors found you and called for help. You've been out for a few hours." Just then, the doctor entered the room, exchanging pleasantries with Stella mum before turning to her. "Hey there, Stella. How are you feeling?" Stella tried to sit up, but a wave of dizziness washed over her. "Just...tired, I guess." The doctor nodded sympathetically. "You're experiencing stress, Stella. That's all. You need to take it easy, okay? Your body and mind are overwhelmed. Have you been sleeping well? Eating properly? Or doing any sort of exercise" Stella shook her head, feeling a lump form in her throat. "Not really... Water... she requested, I've been having trouble sleeping, and I've lost my appetite, as for the excerise doc walking from home to the library does it count...... The doctor nodded thoughtfully. "I see. Well, we'll get you some rest and get you back on track. No school for a while, okay? And try to avoid any stressors." As the doctor left, Stella's father stumbled into the room, reeking of alcohol. "Where's my money, woman?" he slurred, his eyes fixed on Stella's mum. Stella's mum stood up, her voice firm but trembling. "You've spent it all on your drinking, Peter. There's nothing left." Peter sneered, taking a step closer. "You're hiding it from me, aren't you? You and your stupid daughter, always against me." Ahhh Stella tried to intervene, but her mum held up a hand. "No, Stella, stay back. This is between us." But Stella couldn't stay silent. "Dad, stop it! Leave Mum alone!" Peter's face twisted in rage, and he hurled a vase at Stella's mum. She ducked just in time, but the noise and chaos were too much for Stella. A sharp pain shot through her head, and everything went dark once more. Stella's mum was consumed by terror as she watched her daughter pass out from the head injury. In a panic, Peter fled, leaving her alone and helpless. She frantically called for help, but the neighbors responded slowly, their faces grave with concern. They lifted Stella into a car, and her mum followed, her heart racing with fear. The drive to the hospital was a blur of sirens and flashing lights. At the hospital, the staff swarmed around Stella, their faces a blur of scrubs and masks. Stella's mum was pushed aside, left to pace the waiting room, her mind racing with worst-case scenarios. She thought she saw peter lurking in the shadows, his eyes gleaming with malice. The doctor finally emerged, his face grim. "We're doing everything we can, but the next 24 hours are crucial." As Stella's mum waited, memories of Peter's abuse flooded her mind. She remembered the beatings, r***s, insults, and constant fear. She recalled trying to escape, only to be dragged back and punished more severely. The memory of the vase hitting her child came crashing back, and she saw herself standing frozen in horror as Peter's anger unleashed itself on their child. The dam finally broke, and Stella's mum collapsed into a chair, sobbing uncontrollably. Tears streamed down her face, and she wailed in anguish, releasing all the pain and trauma she had carried for so long. The hospital staff and patients stared, unsure how to react. But Stella's mum didn't care. She let the tears flow, purging herself of the toxic memories that had haunted her. As she wept, she felt a weight lifting off her shoulders. She realized she was free from Peter's grasp and would never let him hurt her or her daughter again. She thought of all the times she had blamed herself, all the times she had stayed silent, and all the times she had enabled his abuse. But in this moment, she knew she was not to blame. Peter was the monster, and she was the survivor. With newfound strength, Stella's mum stood up, wiped away her tears, and walked back into the hospital room where her daughter lay fighting for her life. She took Stella's hand, and with a fierce determination, she whispered, "We're going to make it through this, baby. We're going to heal, and we're going to thrive. And no one, especially not peter, will ever hurt us again." The hospital room door opened, and a doctor walked in, a kind smile on his face. "How's our patient doing?" he asked, his eyes scanning Stella's mum and daughter. Stella's mum stood up straight, her head held high. "We're doing okay," she said, her voice firm. "We're going to be okay." The doctor nodded, his eyes crinkling at the corners. "I'm glad to hear that," he said. "You two are going to get through this, together." And with that, Stella's mum knew that they would indeed survive, and they would indeed thrive. They would rise above the darkness, and they would find their way into the light. The doctor's words of encouragement lingered in the air as he checked on Stella's condition. Stella's mum watched anxiously, her heart still racing from the events of the past few hours. She couldn't believe how quickly her life had changed. One moment, she was trapped in a living nightmare; the next, she was fighting for her daughter's life. As the doctor finished his examination, he turned to Stella's mum with a serious expression. "We need to run some more tests," he said. "But I think we're making progress. She's stable, and that's a good sign." Stella's mum nodded, her eyes welling up with tears. She felt a glimmer of hope for the first time in years. Maybe, just maybe, they would make it through this after all. The doctor patted her hand reassuringly. "We'll get through this, okay? We'll get Stella better, and we'll get you both safe." Stella's mum smiled weakly, feeling a sense of gratitude towards this stranger who was helping her daughter. She knew she couldn't do this alone, and she was thankful for the support.
