Evos were supposed to be the next step in human evolution.
Instead, the world learned to fear them.
Some can control fire. Some can bend metal, read minds, heal from deadly wounds, or destroy things with a thought. Governments hunt them. Humans blame them for disasters. And the Evos themselves are divided between those who want to live quietly and those who believe humans no longer deserve control.
Mika knew nothing about any of this.
He thought he was an ordinary boy living with his mother. Then his home was attacked, his mother revealed the truth, and something inside Mika awakened.
He is an Evo.
But there is something different about him.
His power does not behave like the abilities of other Evos. It grows when he is afraid. It reacts to danger before he understands what is happening. Even experienced Evos cannot explain what Mika is becoming.
Then Mika discovers that his father, the man he believed had been dead for years, was one of the most dangerous Evos ever known.
Now people are searching for him.
The government wants to contain him. A powerful Evo group wants to use him. Others want him dead before his power becomes impossible to control.
Mika only wants answers.
But every answer leads to another secret.
And the more he learns about his family, his powers, and the war between humans and Evos, the harder it becomes to decide who the real monsters are.
Because Mika may have been born to save the world.
Or destroy it.
