I stood there, face-to-face with Boaz, the scent of blood and rage already heavy in the air.
His eyes gleamed with sadistic excitement, and his lips curled into a sneer as he circled me like a predator.
His pack stood behind him, tense and ready, their postures screaming hostility.
“You really thought knocking me out in front of everyone was something you could get away with?” Boaz growled. “I’m going to make you pay for that, Kai.”
I rolled my neck, letting the tension bleed out just a little.
“You talk too much, Boaz. If it was really about revenge, you’d face me one-on-one. But nah, you need your whole damn pack to make a move. That’s how I know I already won.”
