I barely had time to breathe after Lucas left before Lena brought it up again. “Kenny,” she said, her voice tight, “I still don’t understand what your problem with him is.” I turned from where I stood by the window, jaw clenched. “Lena, we’ve already talked about this.” “No, you shut it down. That’s not the same.” She crossed her arms. “You’re usually so calm and... collected. But you practically growled at him like a rabid dog.
