4. Crop top

Well the day started out well for Natasza, gruesome really but it still had that shock of the day—the first day at a new school, new surroundings—that same terrifying emotion, first day jitters. That was what it felt like as she stared at the ceiling considering skipping and catching up on sleep. That was the plan and it was going perfectly untill Kerstin and Sunny cheerfully dragged out of bed to the showers. Right after that they almost dressed up if it weren’t for her willingness to do it herself—she would have been a little baby and them? The moms. She didn’t wear much just some baggy jeans, a white shirt and a brown turtleneck sweater. Then without a second thought they dragged her to breakfast. All smooth and sound it seemed, they went to class before they were tardy. Given the circumstance that they might have—did—wake up late, spent too much time in the kitchen. That tour to be continued was not exactly continued. Which left Nat were she was now, lost. Apart from the class she attended before, the one Kerstin kindly pointed out before running to her own class or the entrance, she had no idea what she was doing or going. The map she had downloaded of the campus wasn’t exactly helping her one bit. If only she had found Kerstin in the crowd of students before she got to class late. And given by the time on her phone she had exactly five minutes, again gruesome. She zoomed in on the map on her phone trying to figure out where she should go, left or right, yet she didn’t even know if that hall on the map was where she was. She was completely oblivious to girl running down the hall who also seemed to be late. Two worlds collided—literally, the girl made Nat loose her footing causing Nat to harshly fall on the floor, with her on top oblivious she had a drink in hand. “Hot!” Nat hissed feeling her fresh burn up under her sweater. “Oh s**t, I’m so sorry!” the girl shot up immediately apologising and giving Nat a hand. Nat knew she had a pale skin complexion but when she saw her slim hand in the girl’s palm it looked pale than it should. Once on her foot she stared down to her sweater. Wool did take a lot of water thus the darker shade of brown and a bit more heavyweight then before. She wasn’t going to attend her other class now—she needed a change of clothes. Positive outcome, her skin didn’t burn anymore. “It’s okay.” Nat mumbled picking up her phone from the floor about to leave. “I have a spare shirt I could lend you.” the girl urged staring at her drenched sweater. When Nat’s pale grey eyes stared up for the first time, to disapprove her request she found her eyes lingering a bit longer on then she intended to. She had a taper fade haircut and brown tinted hair, not to the roots though just above the surface—she looked gorgeous it made her facial bone structure more lucid. She shook her head pulling herself from studying the girl head to toe. “I stay at the dorm, it’s ok.” That was her response just that the girl wouldn’t have it. Gently, she grabbed Nat’s wrist turned them around and began walking—Lord knows where. It was the bathroom, she had taken her to the bathroom. Why she asked—to change apparently. They had been standing in an awkward stance for a few seconds now. Nat’s attention on the wall and the girl’s on her, she could literally feel her gaze—it made her uncomfortable. Someone had to talk, they eventually did have to, so the girl did it first. “Clothes, remove them.” she said with a smile. “Oh?” it did surprise Nat but yet she still dropped her bag on the floor and began moving the sweater first. Dropping the shirt on top of the bag too, Nat crossed her arms in front of her feeling a bit vulnerable and self conscious. Though she shouldn’t have been, as the girl was staring at her slightly toned stomach in admiration. She had a perfectly good body, no bruises unlike hers—it was perfect. A slim slender frame with a bit of muscle definition. Her stare had now totally taken Nat to a very uncomfortable thought. Clearing her throat she tore the dark skinned girl out the trance. She felt shy, she was caught. Instantly she rummaged through her bag before a pink? Shirt was pulled out. “Wear this.” And she took it. The girl needed pointers on what a shirt was. Sure it had buttons, sleeves but she forgot one detail. It was a crop top not a shirt. The fabric cling to her forearms, but loosely hanged above her belly button. Baggy jeans and a crop top, that was new to her wardrobe. “You look fine you can pull it off.” the girl encouraged noticed how long Nat had been staring at the outfit. “Or do you Also need a coat. I can give you mine yours is ruined and you might get cold.” Nodding Nat smiled at the girl. She had already popped one arm out of the coat exposing her bare shoulders, she wouldn’t survive the weather with that blouse at all. “No it’s fine I have been in harsher weathers.” With a nod she slipped her arm back in then checked the time on her phone—she was late, by five minutes. “I need to rush to class and again I’m sorry!” she apologized before she left the bathroom running. There went Nat’s chance to ask her directions or her name at best. § Given that no one was around to help her with directions, Nat struggled for another fifteen minutes before she found the class. Just in time before she gave up to go sleep in her room. At the door the lecture gave her a hard on glare and of course she mumbled apologies as she slipped in. Caught Keratin waving at her hence why she took the empty seat beside her. “You wore a t-shirt and a sweater this morning, crop top?” she whispered staring at her up and down. “Its a long story.”
