Insignificant Bastards

1037 Words
The next morning, Yaa left the hotel in her usual all black attire. She wore a black cap which covered her face. Hailing a taxi, she told the driver her location which was actually on the outskirts of the city. She alighted the taxi at a decent and unsuspicious location and walked for thirty minutes before stopping in front of an old and abandoned warehouse. Looking at the dirty place she scoffed, they couldn't even find a better place for their dirty businesses. When she opened the door, she found out it was unlocked. It was as if they had already anticipated her arrival. Entering, she scanned her surrounding attentively. Within a minute, she had taken in every little detail of the place. When she was seven, she discovered she was different from her peers. She had a photographic memory which helped her remember anything and everything she wanted to. After scanning, her eyes settled on the kid bound to the chair and immediately, the air in the room dropped. The place became freezing cold as her eyes turned bloodshot. She saw everything red. Soon, she heard footsteps come in making her highly alerted. Listening closely, she counted thirty different footsteps. Huh, these fools, they didn't actually come in their numbers, well since it had been long since she exersised she would treat this as one. " Good morning Miss Boateng, I hope you are not offended by this prank. " Someone who seemed to be the leader said. She just looked at him with contempt before diverting her graze, he was not even worth her attention. This action of hers angered the leader and he angrily ordered his men to seize her. When the first man charge towards her met his doom the instant he did. When he rushed towards her with a club in his hand, she did not move. She stayed rooted to the spot and watched him. When he was finally three seconds away from her, she tilted her body to a very odd angle as she twisted her leg and kicked him, sending him flying. He landed on the ground and vomited a hand full of blood. When he tried to stand, the sound of bones cracking was heard as he fell and passed out. Seeing this the men started rushing towards her together but she didn't move. She stood at one place and in less that thirty minutes, twenty nine men were all knocked out. All of them had broken a bone but none of them were dead. Turning to the leader she scoffed and said. " I'm going to give you one chance to tell me who is behind all this." " And why do you think I would tell yo........" Before he could finish his sentence, he was lying on the floor unconscious. It was finally then that she turned her attention to her brother. She took out a pocket knife and cut the ropes. He immediately sprung on his feet and examined her to make sure she wasn't injured. " I'm sorry sis, I made you waste your time and energy on these insignificant bastards. I promise never to make you do the dirty work again." He said in a determined voice. She didn't comment towards him but instead called the police to inform them that she had accomplished the mission. Within forty minutes, the police came to the place and arrested the already unconscious men. The detective walked towards Yaa. " Thanks for your help, as expected, you knocked them out. Six of them broke their spinal cords and two of them broke their necks. What exactly did you do to them." Before she could answer, her brother beat her to it. " Big sis didn't do much, those guys were too dumb to think thirty of them were enough to take big sis down. It was their faults for being fooling in the first place." " Hey little guy, l guess you are Kwesi, I've heard so much about you. " He squatted to rub Kwesi's hair but he dodged before he could even do anything. The detective laughed at the kids behavior. He was like a mini version of Yaa, they both had aura's that were too powerful to suit their ages. " Wait here, let me call the ambulance for you, you look injured." Said the detective as he turned around to do so, when he turned back to them, he realized they were gone, he shook his head as amusement sparks danced in his eyes. ************************************** Back in the hotel. Yaa was resting in the hall whiles Kwesi was taking a shower. After a few minutes of boredom, she decided to go to the balcony for fresh air. As she stood there, Kwame also came out of his room to stand on his balcony. If they were surprised seeing each other again, they didn't show it. Their eyes met for a couple of seconds but they both turned their heads once again ignoring each other's presence. Soon, Kwesi was done showering and was looking for her. " I finally found you", he said when he saw her standing on the balcony. Hearing a kids voice, kwame's turned to look at the source. He was surprised to see the kid who was also dressed in black clothes. He looked like her mini version. " I accepted, an online job, go and finish it. The laptop is in my bagpack." " Okay", The kid nodded excitedly and obediently as he returned to the room. After he left, Yaa stood there, ignoring Kwame's stare which was so intense she was surprised, she didn't have a huge hole in her head. " It's rude to stare" , she told him. But before he could reply, she went back inside. Even when she was gone, he continued to stare at their room. Was that kid her child. Was she old enough to mother a child. Who was the father of the kid. The child really looked like her. Questions after question kept coming to him though he knew the answer to none. After some time he laughed, it seems there was more to her than he had expected.
