"Those bastards are up to their same old tricks again I see," I said as Venus stilled in my arms. Lightly I brushed her hair aside and nuzzled into her neck. Just the smell of her soothed my anger, and calmed my nerves.

"Tricks?" Venus asked almost at a whisper, "What tricks?"

"I think I should be.." Ethan attempted to leave at this point but I cut him off as I was still interested in hearing more about the mist wolves.

"Not yet," I said to him from the nape of her neck, I could tell her body was reacting to my closeness as she shivered when I spoke. "Yes, tricks. They stole my mother from me after they killed my father. That was almost ten years ago now. We have been sending trackers out in search of them but always end at the coastline. Its as if they turned into merfolk and swam away."

"I know they have at least one witch," Venus said as she tilted her head towards me. I felt her breath on the side of my face and growled lowly which caused her to shiver.

"A witch you say?" Ethan asked tilting his head to the side and stoking his chin. "That would make sense with all the other evidence we have complied."

"What evidence? May I see it?" Venus asked

"When you've healed," I said while planting kisses down her neck enjoying the response her body was giving me.

I could tell that she was pouting and was entranced by how cute her face was when she looked at me. "First let me hear about these mist wolves, Ethan what do you know about them."

"Well, all we know is what is written in the old books and journals from the library. They state that mist wolves are sacred children of the Moon Goddess, and the powers they wield can be frightening. One hundred years ago a battle was waged against their kind by an evil witch who tried to steal their power for herself." Ethan stated as he looked at his notes on the clipboard. "The wolves were from the royal line, but do to a family dispute they went into hiding and no one has seen one till now." He said while looking at Venus over his glasses.

"You're a royal?" I asked her as she stiffened in my arms, "Do you know anything about what he is speaking about baby?"

Slowly Venus started to fade and almost disappeared in my arms, I tightened my hold on her but she didn't move. "Shh, it's ok, no one is going to hurt you and I'm not going to reject you over your bloodline," I whispered to her. Her fading stopped and she turned and looked at me while tears streamed down her pink cheeks.

"You're not?" Venus whimpered as I felt her body slowly relax into me. "You promise?"

"I promise, you are my mate." I told her while brushing the tears away with my thumb. I cupped her cheek in my hands and said, "You are my world now, why would I give this up?" She smiled at me then looked deep in thought.

"You need my book, its in my backpack in the cabin." Venus said as she leaned into my touch. "There is somethings I can only tell you but the rest he can hear." She said as she eyed Ethan again.

Sky I need you to get into the cabin and grab her backpack, remove all the rogues from the area while you are there. Also be on the look out for a witch, they seem to have one.

On it, most of the rogues have left anyways there are only five left we will take them out before heading back.

There is a door in the floor under the cabin it's the easiest way in. Be careful and come to my room when you're done.

Yes Alpha

"Let me unhook you guys, that should be good enough for now." Ethan said as he started removing the tubes and carefully wrapping up the machine. "i'll see if we can get some food up here for you as well." He said as he left the room and shut the door.

I pulled Venus back against me and laid down on the bed ensuring she was wrapped up next to me in the covers. "Sleep now baby, you need your rest. I will wake you when either the food or your things arrive." I said as I watched her eyes slowly close as she snuggled closer to me. I held her tightly in my arms and kissed her forehead, I will protect her no matter what.

(Venus)

I snuggled closer to Logan as I reached out to Zeus to see if anything new was going on.

"Hey  Zo, how are things on your side?"

"Fantastic, but I'll have to explain everything to you when I get there. I'm leaving this place in two days. Be ready I am coming with two hundred wolves, all mist walkers."

"Wait what? Two Hundred? are you sure?"

"Yes give or take, and I'll be bringing Mom, and someone else."

"Mom! Really? What about Dad?"

"I'll explain everything when I get there, just be ready."

"I'll try, be safe"

"You know me" Zeus snickered

"That I do, so don't do anything reckless, I mean it Zo"

Zeus just laughed and cut the connection. I peaked up at Logan who had his eyes glazed over and I could tell he was communicating with someone. I figured I should wait for him to finish before I dropped this bombshell on him.

Hey Lilly? Can you feel the other wolves?

Vaguely, it's like they are in the in between place, or as if they were all hiding themselves and screaming for attention but I can't tell what direction the noise is coming from.

Weird, I can feel Zo but that's it. Let me know if you sense anything else.

I looked up at Logan and he was staring at me with a worried look on his face. "um, how much room do you have available here?" I asked as he c****d an eyebrow at me and grinned.

"I have plenty why do you ask?" 

"Is it enough to house two hundred wolves?"

"Two Hundred? Where are you getting those from?"

"Zo found two hundred of our kind, he says my mother is among them." I said as tears again started to sting my eyes threatening to fall.

"How long do we have till they get here?"

"They are leaving in two days, I don't know how far away they are though." I said while playing with the stitching of the comforter, it seems to be extremely interesting at this point in time.

Logan grabbed my hands and pulled them to his mouth gently kissing my knuckles. "Baby, look at me." He said as he continued to lay his lips on my fingers.

I stared up at him and saw him smile sweetly with desire and love flowing from his eyes. "We will be ready, I'll get my guys to work as soon as Sky comes back, ok Love?" He asked as he rested my hands on his chest while pulling me tighter to him.

"Thank you" I whispered as I let my tiredness sweep over me, and the stress of the last few months fade away. 

"Anytime my love." Logan whispered as he laid his head against mine and slowly stroked my hair, easing me into the slumber that quickly took over me.  The feeling of warmth and safety swept over me as I slept, allowing me to have the best sleep I've had in over a year. I wished to stay like this forever, can I really wish for this, or is this just a dream.
