RIO NIGHT
Carlos and Blanca sat in their seats at a restaurant across from Isabela and her friend, Juan. Isabela had booked a dinner and samba show in the heart of Rio de Janeiro so that Blanca could experience the full Brazilian experience before she returned to Spain.
Carlos ignored the tight feeling in his stomach at the thought of her leaving. He understood it was best this way. He didn’t want to get into a relationship with Blanca when her home was in Madrid. Brazil would be a fading memory for her, and he couldn’t commit to someone who didn’t plan to live here.
He eyed Isabela’s friend, Juan, who sported a moustache and beard with strong, piercing eyes and manly presence. He wondered why Juan was staring at Blanca. Was he attracted to her? Had he met her the last time
