COSTUME PARTY
Carlos stared in the mirror and played with his tie as he waited for guests to arrive for his birthday party. He was dressed as a vampire in a pin-striped grey suit, sporting a long tie with a white-fitted shirt underneath. He had his hair slicked back, and wore a fake moustache. A pale mask covering his face gave him an authentic vampire look.
Luiz arrived early to help him set up. “It’s great you’re having a Halloween theme on your birthday, when it’s not yet Halloween. Crazy, but a great idea, man.”
“I wanted something different for my birthday. It makes it memorable when you make it a little elaborate, and it’s a good distraction from all these secrets surrounding Blanca, Antonia, and my father.”
