A HIDDEN THREAT
Blanca eased back into the comfort of the sofa while sipping her drink, the sweetness soothing her parched throat. She took in the table of assorted foods. The aromas whetted her appetite. Even though the food had been catered, Luiz and Carlos rushed around, greeting the guests as they dribbled in for over an hour.
Blanca’s mind focused on Carlos whose lips she wanted to taste, and whose hand she could still feel. She’d miss him deeply when she returned to Spain. But how could they ever make a relationship work from such a distance? Was it even worth to try when they were thousands of miles apart? What if he hurt her as Jorge had? She’d been deeply in love with Jorge, or so she thought at the time, and he had sent her to hospital with multiple bruises and cuts
