DISCOVERY
The next Sunday afternoon, Blanca sat in the living room between Maria and Julio. She had hidden her bruises with concealer as she didn’t want to worry them. It wasn’t fair to get them involved in her mess, whatever it was.
She had asked Julio to play old family videos in hopes they would trigger her memory. Julio happily obliged. He set a laptop on the coffee table in front of them. “My nephew is great with technology. He put our old videos of the family on the computer and showed me how to use it.”
“That’s nice of him,” Blanca said.
“These videos might help you remember your past, Blanca,” said Maria. She seemed more energetic over the last few days, but still refused to speak about the favelas.
