The twins were sprawled on the carpet, building towers with their colorful blocks, while I folded their little clothes into neat piles on the bed. The late afternoon light streamed through the curtains, painting the room in soft gold. It was one of those rare, peaceful moments when the house felt like a sanctuary—quiet, steady, almost normal.
