Elle’s POV
The mansion was huge, beautiful—almost too perfect. The children loved it instantly, running through the echoing halls as though they belonged here. They were so happy when Lucas told them we’d be living here.
But something gnawed at me. Something wasn’t right.
At first, Lucas refused to let me and the kids move out. Then, after one mysterious phone call, he suddenly changed his mind. Now here we were, placed in one of his houses. Did he find out something about Kate? Or was he hiding something from me?
