Chapter 24The next morning I lay in bed for a half hour before my alarm was due to go off, desperately trying to guess whether he’d really shown up. I peeked out the blinds, but there was no cookie wrapper this time, no evidence that our interaction had really taken place. Just a photograph snapped in my mind’s eye, and I didn’t trust my head one bit where Badger was involved. And for several days, things stayed quiet. Too quiet. I’d been checking Boston Badger Watch at least once an hour at work, but there hadn’t been many posts since the incident with the governor’s daughter.
