CHAPTER NINE Franklin College, a small private school, is aptly named for the town in which it is located, as well as for Benjamin Franklin. There is an impressive statue of old Ben Franklin gracing the campus. Jake claimed they commissioned the statue so no i***t gets confused and thinks the institution of higher learning is named after Franklin Roosevelt, who of course was born in a different century. (Kudos to the college forefathers who had the forethought to take pity upon such moronic types.) I managed to get an academic scholarship to supplement my financial aid, but accommodations were not covered.
