The moon crept itself out as they left the library to go and have dinner.
They arrived at the dining table. Trevor sniffed, and a smile stretched over his face.
They pulled the chairs and sat down. Loveness and Natasha began saving everyone. The boys got their shares and left the dining table to go and sit in the living room since there was no more space left at the dining table.
After an hour, they finished eating. Azariah offered to take the dishes and neither Loveness nor Natasha refused.
They all moved and went into the living room. Stomachs full. They sat down with sighs.
“Boys, how are your studies moving along?” Trevor asked.
“Well, we are doing our level best to get our work done, through this bullshit,” Justine spoke.
“I’m really sorry, boys. I promise this will be over soon.”
“It’s not your fault, father. These assholes keep following us, no matter what. Just promise you are gonna kill them slowly. And I think you should also be given a chance to teach them one or two things,” Mutale spoke.
All of them looked at him. It was very unlike Mutale to speak like that. Justine was the one with that attitude.
“What?” He asked upon seem their eyes.
“Nothing. But I wouldn’t risk bringing such curses in my house,” Trevor spoke.
“But I think I should go with you. I can communicate with the Costa Rican clown frogs. And let them help you,” Erup said.
“Thank you Erup. But we got this ok? Just concentrate on your studies, do you understand me?” They nodded.
“Justine and Mutale started fighting when they were our age, why haven’t we started already? You just keep making us do those lame training,” Frazer spoke and Mwansa was nodding in support.
“You are just too big for your age,” Sebastian spoke.
“Well, it’s not our fault our growth hormones are more productive than theirs,” Mwansa spoke.
“You are not going to punish us because we are eleven and still look like we are fourteen heck even fifteen,” Frazer mentioned.
“Tell you what, when we finish dealing with the Academy. You are coming with us to Yarrum. And guess what? You are gonna meet snowmen. Not your typical one,” he added.
“We are not kids father,” Frazer spoke.
“As I said, they are not your typical snowmen boys.”
“Uncle Sebastian, I’m following, right? I also want to see the snowmen,” Isaac spoke.
“Yes, sure,” Sebastian spoke.
Around twenty-one, they all went into their bedrooms.
Loveness went to the bathroom, freshened up, then came back. Trevor was sitting on the bed reading ‘Grimm’ a book by Shayne salvers.
Loveness then wore her nightdress and went to sit on the bed.
“How is the fella holding up there?” Trevor asked, still looking at the novel.
“Well, she has been troubling me, these past few days,” she mentioned. “She just kicked,” she said excitedly, looking at Trevor.
“What!” He put his hand on Loveness’s stomach. Then, seconds later, she kicked again. The man’s smile stretched even wider. “She kicked,” he got up and began pacing. Repeatedly saying, she kicked.
“Alright, father, will you get back to bed?”
“You don’t understand, Loveness. I’m gonna spoil her so much,” sat on the bed again.
“I know.”
Trevor’s smile faded as he took a sigh.
“What? Are you ok?” Loveness asked.
“Yeah, I’m fine,” he shook his head.
“Trevor, your mouth is trembling, which means you are lying.”
“No, everything is ok, just forget about it. Good night, princes,” he kissed Loveness’s stomach, “good night,” he kissed her.
“Trevor, you can’t just do this. I have the right to know what is going on, you know?” But he had already wrapped a blanket over himself. “I know you are not sleeping, T. I promise you if I find out what you are hiding from me from another person. That will be the end of our marriage.”
She wrapped a blanket over herself and faced the opposite direction. They always go into marriage divorce. It’s like the only threat they have that is strong. Women.
But he just couldn’t blurt to her that the baby she was so excited about was in danger. That there is a family tree in the house and the unborn baby is not on it.
Just imagine what would happen. She might end up getting stressed to the extent of the baby actually dying.
The only thing he had to do was make sure he keeps anyone threatening to the baby as far as possible.
But again, what if no matter what he tried, the baby’s life is still in danger? The fact that her name was not on the family tree might that she was not part of the family.
But Trevor was determined to do whatever it took to make sure the baby was born.
If it meant killing half of the world, he was willing to take that risk. But blurting everything out to her was a scenario he wasn’t gonna do.
The next morning, he woke up to the sound of his phone alarm. But remained on the bed.
Loveness came out of the bathroom minutes later, and she was drying her hair.
“Morning,” she told him.
“Morning,” he replied.
She went and sat down in the mirror. After, she finished applying lotion. She wore a turtleneck sweater, wild loose pullover. A high waist, vintage solid jeans. And black sandals.
All together, she displayed a dashing figure.
Trevor got up from bed and wrapped his hands around her.
“Trevor, what her you doing?” She asked.
“I don’t know, but this feels great,” he responded and hugged her behind tighter.
“Get off. I’m still mad at you for last night,” he let her go and she went to the dressing mirror.
“Still with that? I thought that chapter was closed,” he waked and sat on the bed.
“To you maybe. Do you seriously expect me to be ok known you are hiding something from me?” She looked at him for a few seconds and turned back to the mirror.
“I promise I will tell you everything later tonight.”
“You are not sure about that T. Anyway, forget it, take a shower and come downstairs. Breakfast will be ready within ten minutes,” without waiting for his reply, she went out and slammed the door behind her.
“Crap,” he sighed.
After some minutes, he got up and went into the bathroom. He finished bathing, dressed up and went downstairs.
The elders were at the dining table and the boys sat in the living room. He went straight to the dining table.
“Morning,” he said.
“Morning,” they all said back.
“Where is Sebastian?” He asked as he pulled a chair to sit down.
“He told him to wake up and come for breakfast. But I’m he went back to sleep,” she clutched her teeth. “This is when you are coming?” She added.
They all turned and saw Sebastian approaching.
“Morning everyone,” he pulled a chair and sat beside Natasha.
“Morning,” they responded, some even mouth full.
They ate their breakfast, and after they finished. Trevor and Sebastian went straight into the library.
And just as they arrived, Emit and Hephzibah entered the library, too.
“I don’t recall inviting both of you,” Trevor said.
“And we didn’t need your permission to help you. So just drop the topic, and let’s talk about something serious,” Emit said and moved past Trevor, who was cursing under his breath.
“Where are you going?” Trevor asked.
“Just follow me,” Emit said and continued going straight.
The rest looked at each other and followed Emit behind. Then he stopped in front of a bookshelf. He pulled a book, and the shelf slid open. Then they saw a black leathery door with a combination lock on it.
“Of course, there is another secret door inside my house. How sweet,” Trevor blurted.
“Will you quiet down? I’m trying to remember the freaking passcode,” Emit sneered.
He attempted about two passcodes, then a woman’s voice shouted that made the three men jump with panicked shouts and a feral hiss.
“Last attempt and you will be laser beamed,” the voice said.
“You better get this right, old man,” Sebastian said.
Emit took a deep breath, then began pressing the buttons. He finished, and they all stepped backward.
There was cranking noise coming from the other side of the wall like booby-traps resetting themselves. And then seconds later, the door opened. They all finally breathed out the breath they were holding.
“Success full,” the voice said.
“Thanks, Angeli,” Emit said and began walking towards the door.
“You gave her a name?” Hephzibah asked as they followed him behind.
“Yeah, I don’t see any harm in that.”
“You are one weird guy.”
“Whatever.”
They entered the room, and it was as dark as hell. To top it off, the only light which was coming from the library vanished as the door closed behind them.
“What hell lays in here? More secrets my parents kept to keep me safe?” Trevor said.
“Just shut it if you have nothing better to say. Angeli, turn the lights on please,” Emit said.
“Turn the lights on,” Angeli repeated, and seconds later, the room got lit.
It was like a curve with rock walls. Then there was a ring in the middle of the room.
“What is this place?” Sebastian asked as they walked forward.
“A training room. Instead of you destroying the house, you can come and use this room,” Emit spoke.
“Sweet,” Hephzibah vanished from where he was standing and appeared seconds later inside the ring. They all looked from where he was seconds ago, then at him.
“You can shadow walk?” Trevor asked, stunned.
“Kind of. Though we don’t call it shadow walking,” Hephzibah said.
“No one cares what you call it. Ready to have your ass kicked,” Sebastian grinned darkly at Trevor.
“You mean your ass kicked, right?” Trevor smirked back.
Sebastian walked forward then after a few steps an axe came from the other side towards Sebastian. He quickly flipped on the floor and the axe only sliced part of his shoe.
“Damn,” he said. But just as he took another step forward. The ground where he was standing opened. He jumped and tapped on his werewolf form. Then landed just an inch from the hole in the ground. “You bastard, tell her to deactivate this bullshit!” Sebastian snapped at Emit back in human form.
“That’s not how it works, wolf,” Emit responded and shadow walked to the ring.
“Good luck,” Trevor said and shadow walked himself as well and appeared in the ring.
“Not fair, you all have shadow walking powers. Why do I have to do this alone?”
“Watch out,” Trevor said, pointing to the left of Sebastian.
A hammer the size of Trevor’s car was approaching him. Sebastian jumped, and the hammer missed.
“Well, shame on you I have made it,” he said. But his excitement was short, lived, as huge steel balls approached from all directions. He tried to jump into the ring, but a steel barrier blocked. “You bastards tell that stupid Angeli of yours to deactivate these traps!” Sebastian yelled loud enough for them to hear.
“I’m not sure I like your tone, sir,” Angeli spoke in her machinery voice.
“Trevor, please help. I have kids to take care of, you ass!”
Trevor waved his wand and appeared on the other side of the barrier. He touched Sebastian’s shoulder and vanished, only to appear in the ring.
“What took you so long? I almost peed in my pants,” he looked at himself just in case.
“Well, I wanted to see how long a werewolf could last.”
“Stupid Angeli,” he looked up as if she was there.
“Angeli active training mode. Fourth level, if you don’t mind,” Emit said.
“But, they can only use the fourth level after passing the three levels.”
“Dude, before I get roasted, I’m gonna kill you,” Hephzibah looked at Emit darkly.
“Angeli, just do it.”
“Alright, sir.”
Things began moving inside the walls. Metal objects impacting each other. Things rolling, to mention but a few.
Then the ring they were in shook for a couple of seconds and stopped.
“What’s that noise Emit?” Sebastian asked.
“Well, it’s a surprise,” he replied. “Hephzibah, let’s leave the ring and see how the kids do it,” he added.
“The fight shall begin in less than fifty seconds,” Angeli’s voice echoed all over the room.
“You better not kill is Angeli,” Trevor said.
“I wouldn’t kill you, master. Well, not too sure about the werewolf.”
“My name is Sebastian's computer,” Sebastian snapped.
“Ten seconds,” she called out again.
Emit and Hephzibah, shadow walked out of the ring. And left the two men facing at each other. Waiting for Angeli to shout GO!
