After, he finally finished telling them everything that had happened. The three men’s eyes were as wide as ever.
The academies were still trying to free themselves. But they just led themselves dipper into the hole. Because the more they struggled, the tighter the vines were getting.
“And Emit. Why the hell didn’t you tell us Reyar was your wife? When the boys asked you about her, you said she was just a random woman,” Trevor asked.
“You wanted me to introduce you to the woman who killed your parents?” He asked.
“Yeah. If you had told me about all this, then nothing of this sort would have happened. So technically this is your faulty. If I didn’t think fast, then I wouldn't be here with these bastards,” he looked the Death.
He had placed them closer to him so their powers can be lessened. Slowly killing them. But they were yet to see the worst.
“So what are we going to do about them?” Hephzibah asked, eyeing the Academy.
“Not sure yet. But I think touching them might be considered. I can look them up in Santa’s dan. Since they feel pain while I’m around them. I can use that to my advantage,” Trevor said.
He then stretched and touched the academy. The man screamed so loudly, Trevor’s neighbors probably heard it.
Before he could even touch Hope’s face, it was burning up. But immediately he retreated, the worn healed up.
“See, these two bastards can’t stand my presence. So I will deal with them. Killing them now would be a bad idea. We might need them later on,” Trevor said.
“And Reyar? She is clearly not your fan. And judging by her earlier actions. She might try to break in and help the Academy.” Sebastian spoke.
“I will deal with her myself,” Emit said, “she is my wife after all. And I know all her tricks. So leave her to me.”
“If you say so,” Trevor said, then after a few minutes he went on, “wait. I have been in Yarrum, tortured by this bastard,” he punched Egayov, who was to his left, “I have been imprisoned for weeks now. Which means it should be months here, right? But Isaac and all of you look the same,” he looked from Sebastian to Emit and finally Hephzibah.
“The time interval changes at times,” Emit said, then went on as he saw the expressions on everyone’s faces. “What I mean is. Sometimes the time on earth might be faster than that of Yarrum and vice versa. So judging by the time Loveness and the kids arrived here. The time of Yarrum was faster,” he explained.
“So how long ever since they arrived?” Trevor asked, still looking a bit puzzled.
“About two weeks,” Sebastian replied.
“What?” He whooped.
“Yeah. How long did you think?”
“Months, heck, even a year. Since I have been there for about a month and maybe a few days, I was thinking the time in Yarrum is invariably slow than that of earth. No wonder these bastards never attacked you,” he kicked the Hope again. “I was worried sick thinking something bad might have happened, but quite the contrary,” he sighed in relief.
They allowed silence to break in. Then Trevor rose.
“I think you two should talk. The ungrateful bastard just misunderstood things, right Egayov,” he nodded, though glaring at Trevor. “So it would be better for you to clear things up. I mean, you will be fighting your wife and your mother in a few days. So resolve whatever is going on between you two. Sebastian, Hephzibah. Let’s go we take these jerks into Santa’s dan.”
Sebastian and Hephzibah got up and moved about five feet from the table. Then, seconds later, they disappeared. Leaving Emit and his son to push things up.
Egayov was not heartless. He was a jerk who misunderstood things. Nothing more. So if Emit could forgive him. Then, killing Reyar wouldn’t be a problem. With two makers at his side, Reyar wouldn’t last a second.
Seconds later, they appeared in the darkroom. And the Academy groaned as they hit the floor.
“Shut up, you bastards. This is just the beginning of your suffering. Trevor, let me teach them one or two things,” Sebastian said.
“Yeah, why not,” he waved his wand, and the room got lit.
It was filled with a lot of objects. That there was barely any space left inside.
One problem he was making, though, was to put the academy in a room full of dangerous objects. Maybe he had a strategy or something. Who knows?
They walked and reached an open space at the back of the room.
Then Trevor called his nature powers and pinned the academy to the wall.
The vines went inside the wall to tighten the Academy to the wall even more.
“You can both have your turns. These assholes ruined our lives,” Trevor said, “I will be right back,” he winked out of sight before either Sebastian nor Hephzibah could reply.
Then seconds later he appeared inside the room the family tree was.
The tree was positioned at the center of the room.
He walked close to it.
“I have the Academy, so my daughter’s name should surely appear now,” he reached and kneed. But to his surprise, the name was still not there. The family tree seemed to have ended on Justine and Mutale.
He sat next to the tree. Brocken down. If the Academy aren’t the ones to kill his baby, then who? Or did he just have to kill the Academy, then the name will appear?
What if there is some bastard out there who is even more dangerous than the Academy who might be a threat to his baby? Was he missing something? If that’s the case, then what was it?
Killing the academy right now would be stupid. He still needs to get answers from them. And they might just tell him who might be a threat to his baby if it’s not themselves.
Could it be Reyar? But she only wanted to kill Trevor. But that might just take a turn.
He sat there for almost twenty minutes, then got up. Whoever is coming will find me ready. He thought. And shadow walked back in Santa’s dan.
“Dude, we have been waiting,” Sebastian snapped.
“Sorry. Shall we go? These bastards aren’t going anywhere,” I glared at Death and Hope, “I want to see my family,” I added.
Then he shadow walked into the living room. And seconds later, Hephzibah and Sebastian appeared as well.
“Trevor, are you fine? Did they hate you? You are fine, right?” Loveness cried, examining Trevor. From top to bottom.
“I’m fine, Loveness. And how is my baby?” He kneed down and kissed her stomach. “Hey little girl,” he said.
“She is fine. Though she has been kicking so much. And I’m fine by the way,” she glared at him.
“Come on, my wife. Are you going to be mad at me? After seeing me for a long time? Come on,” he opened his hands to hug her.
But then it hit him. He didn’t even think about Loveness. Was that woman right? Was he really not in love with Loveness?
“Father,” Justine Mutale interrupted his thoughts.
“Hey boys. Erup,” he opened his eyes.
“Do I have to?” Erup asked.
“Yeah, come on. You too,” he looked at the twins and Isaac.
After a few minutes, they went and sat on the couches.
He told them everything that happened. And about how Egayov and he worked together.
“So Reyar is the one we have to worry about?” Mutale asked.
“Yes boy. But not entirely. For all I know, they might be someone out there trying to hate you all.”
“But at least we have the Academy,” Erup spoke.
“And what are you planning to do with them? These bastards deserve nothing but death,” Azariah said, fire burning in her eyes.
“Oh, they will surely die. But for now, torturing them seems enjoyable. And Delur. Where is Delur?” He asked.
He was too caught up with his all family he forgot Bout the snowman who tried to save his life.
“What did you call him?” Loveness asked.
“Delur.”
“We have been calling it John all this time. Is that its real name?”
“Yeah. Didn’t he tell you? Or you just failed to understand his gesturing thing?” A smile stretched over his face.
“Well, can you blame us?”
“Not really it took my minutes to understand him. Anyway, where is he?”
“He went upstairs,” Isaac said.
Then a few minutes later, Delur came downstairs with something in his hands.
He went straight to Trevor and kneed down. Then as Trevor looked down, he saw that Delur presented some sort of dagger though it was small.
“Delur, what is this?”
Delur got up and looked at Trevor excitedly. Then pointed at itself, the dagger, then at Trevor.
“You made this for me?” He nodded, “thanks. But don’t you think it is a bit small?” He took the dagger and examined it.
Then seconds later, the dagger began glowing and expanding.
Trevor looked down at Delur and the snowman was smiling from ear to ear.
He turned to the dagger, and it was now tall enough to reach his hips. He examined it father then saw wings on it. Then it hit him.
“I have seen this symbol somewhere,” he looked at Delur. “But I can remember where,” he turned to the dagger. “Anyway, thanks. It will come in hand.” He placed the dagger on the table.
Emit and Egayov broke the silence as they appeared a few feet from everyone. They walked over and sat on the same couch.
They talked for a bit longer, than they all began going to their bedrooms. First, the women went, and after a few minutes. Emit, Egayov and Hephzibah went.
Before he knew it, he was only left with his kids, Mutale and Justine.
It has been a while since they spent a bit of father and son time. So this was just the perfect time for it.
They began watching the mask. Where the man discovered a green mask and used it to protect the city.
Mutale went into the kitchens while Justine went to the refrigerator and got drinks for him and Mutale. While he got red wine for his father. Then Mutale came from the kitchen with snacks.
“I missed this,” Trevor said, looking from Justine to Mutale.
“We missed it as well, father. Not too long ago, we tried just the two of us. But it was miserable,” Mutale said.
They watched the movie. Laughing on top of their lungs. Not caring everyone else was sleeping. But you can’t blame them. The mask was is just an amazing movie. The guy was a psycho but in a good way.
“So father, what are we going to do if our sister’s name doesn’t show on the family tree?” Mutale asked.
“That I do not know. But we just have to be ready for anything. And don’t mention this to Loveness, ok?” They nodded, “nice, and don’t you think you should go to bed? And did you manage to take your exams?”
“Yes father, we did,” Justine spoke.
“I’m sorry boys,” he looked down.
“Father, as we said before, this is not your fault. And besides, you were trying to save our little sister. So don’t say this is your fault,” Justine spoke.
They carried on watching for another hour. And only went to bed at one in the morning.
As he reached his bedroom. He looked at Loveness. And the words the woman told him echoed inside his head.
Did I marry her because I wanted to fill the void inside me? But I did, and I still feel a connection with her. But again, why didn’t I ask how she was feeling when I saw her after a long time? Her image didn’t even occur in my head. Oh, did that woman do something to make me feel this way towards Loveness? Because I’m certain about what I feel for her. He thought.
He lifted the bedcovers and went to bed. And even in his dream world, the questions about his relationship with Loveness kept hunting him.
The only way to be sure about this was to see that woman again. Egayov’s wife.
