“I think I told you to stay away from those two. Didn’t I?” I scolded.
“We had no choice, father. And if we didn’t come to save you, that woman would have killed you for sure,” Justine spoke.
“And we are fine. It’s not like they did something to us,” Erup added.
“I know you meant no harm, but seeking the academies’ help was not a way to go about it. We are the realm stored with useful weapons. You could have gone there.”
“We are sorry, father,” Mutale said.
“Just don’t do that in the future, ok?” They nodded.
They all went quiet, and the silence was only broken when Sebastian come with the twins downstairs.
They walked over and sat on the same couch.
“Why the hell are you shouting? I can hear you from my bedroom?” Sebastian said, looking at Trevor.
“It’s....... What happened to the bracelet?” he asked as he looked at Sebastian’s wrist.
“I actually hadn’t noticed it is gone. Boys?” Sebastian looked at the boys.
“Well, that’s the help we sought from Death and Hope. They helped us to break it,” Justine spoke.
“Oh, that is nice of them,” Sebastian said.
“There is nothing nice about that. I know those bastards, in and out. They must be up to something. They just can’t help us like that,” Trevor replied.
“Trevor, will you quit stressing yourself out? If they are up to something, then we can deal with that later. Right now you just need to relax, ok?” Loveness said.
“Yes, Loveness is right. And I’m sorry for blaming you for Sebastian’s kidnaping,” Natasha spoke.
“You what?” Sebastian gasped, “woman, because of him we are alive. He has done nothing but to help us every single day. What the hell were you thinking putting the blame on him?” Sebastian scolded.
“Sebastian, lower your voice, they are kids here, ok? She wasn’t entirely wrong. That woman wants me and that is why she kidn*pped you. So in a way she was right,” Trevor said.
“Trevor, don’t even try to justify her actions. She made a mistake, a stupid one, not to mention.”
“Kids, go to bed it’s late, all of you,” Trevor said, “Mutale, take them,” he added.
They all got up and went upstairs. Then after he saw that they were out of earshot, he said.
“Why are you making an issue out of nothing? She said her heart out, and I don’t see anything wrong with that. So please cut this crap, ok?”
“Trevor....”
“Sebastian, I said cut it out,” he interrupted. “We have important matters to attend to. So, please, for the love of God, don’t bring this matter up again. Especially in front of the kids. What the hell were you even thinking? Now let’s go, I have to get some answers from Death and Hope,” Trevor got up.
“Will you please give it a rest for once? Trevor, you just came back from the dead. Literally. So, take a rest for a while. The academies aren’t going anywhere,” Loveness spoke.
“We have zero time for resting, dear. The sooner we find that woman, the better. Sebastian let’s go.”
Without giving the woman time to argue, they went into Santa’s dan.
They entered the room, and it was as black as hell. Trevor flipped a switch on the wall and the room lit up.
“Why the hell, do you always come when we are sleeping?” Death shouted.
“It’s the best time to take. Anyway, I didn’t come here for that,” Trevor said.
“Are you here to give us food?” Hope spoke.
And then it hit Trevor. Ever since he took them, they haven’t had anything to eat. Not even a single drop of water. Which was worrying, who the hell could they stay without water or food for so long? She should be dying by now. And with the torture he was giving them, hell, they should be dead. But somehow they were still alive.
“Who are you even alive?” Sebastian asked.
He was now looking better than before. Due to the healing powers in the necklace he now wore, his injuries were now healing up.
He was cleaned up and wore black jeans, a black shirt, and slippers.
“Oh, you are alive. See, we meant no harm by helping you,” Hope said.
“And I appreciate that,” Trevor tipped an imaginary hat.
“And our reward?” Death asked.
“Later. Now tell me, what the hell did you do to help my kids? If it has any bullshit written on it, you are both dead. You, bastards want us dead, so, I don’t buy this thing about you helping us,” Trevor said and moved closer to them.
“We want to kill you ourselves. Not any random person. And more especially a woman. How did she even outsmart you?” Death asked.
“She didn’t. She stabbed me behind. Cowardly manners, if you ask me,” Trevor said.
“Dude, you are killing us. Do you mind moving away?” Hope spoke.
“I will think about it. Now, do you mind telling me more about this woman? What’s she like? And most important, what powers does she possess? I want to know every single detail about her,” Trevor took two steps backward.
“You haven’t given us our reward yet. And you want us to help you again? Are you nuts? First reward, then information,” Death said.
“Death, I don’t have time for this. I have already told you that I will reward you later. I don’t see any problem with that.”
“Trevor, reward then info it’s that simple.”
“What do you want?” Sebastian asked and went to stand beside Trevor.
“Dude,” Trevor looked murderously at Sebastian.
“Free us from these vines. They are literally choking us to death. Then we need a lot of food after that. The rest we will tell you later,” Hope spoke and smirked at Death.
“If you ever thought, I was going to say yes, then I’m sorry but you were sadly mistaken. I can never let you go from those vines, never. You just have to come up with different rewards. The food part is good. But let you go, is a hard pass.”
“Then no information,” Hope said and both the academies closed their eyes.
Trevor took one glance at Sebastian then disappeared. Seconds later he appeared in a dim room.
Only a candle that sat on the table was the source of light.
Then as he turned, a huge snowball was coming in his direction. Before he could do anything, it struck him in the stomach.
He went flying and hit a wall.
Then he quickly scrambled to his feet and raised his hands in surrender.
“Trevor,” Egayov gasped.
“Do you want to finish what your mother started, you bastard?” Trevor cleaned the snow from his clothes.
“I’m sorry, I thought it was one of mother’s guards. You should have given me a heads up or something. You can take a sit,” Egayov gestured for the couches.
“I’m not even taking long. I just came to borrow those power restraining bracelets.”
“I left them at the castle.”
“Dammit. Can you take me?” He moved closer to Egayov.
“Are you insane? Do you know how many guards are there? We wouldn’t even last a seconds man,” he argued.
“It’s not like we are going to be walking into the castle. Since you know where the bracelets are, I can shadow walk us there. And you can make portals too. So I don’t know what you are scared of.”
“Mother, as obviously, added all sorts of protection around the castle. So going there would be a suicide, man. Why the hell do you need those bracelets so bad, that you are willing to take such a big risk?”
“For the academies,” he finally sat down.
“I thought you had them under control, what happened?” He sat down on the opposite couch.
“Well...” He explained everything that had happened so far, not leavening any stone unturned. “And that is why I need those bracelets.” He finally finished after thirty minutes.
“Sorry I wasn’t keeping a good lookout for mother. You sent me here to spy on her, not to be lazing around,” he looked down in disappointment.
“Well, you can redeem yourself, by helping me with those bracelets,” Trevor said.
“Alright. But I’m warning you again. We might get caught.”
“Let’s just go. I have wasted enough time already,” he got up. “Just be ready for anything.”
Egayov opened a gateway and his bedroom could be seen at the center of the sparkles. The only thing wrong with gateways was, they never really show you if people are on the other side or not. They can show you the room, but not the people in there.
Trevor looked at Egayov and stepped into the gateway. Then seconds later appeared inside Egayov’s room. But he was not the only one there.
A man about his age locked eyes with him. So Trevor did the first thing that came to his mind.
“Hello,” he waved his hand, “this is not what it looks like.”
“Well, it looks like you are intruding, and intruders pay for their actions,” the man said.
“Sorry, but I have to do this.”
“What?”
Trevor raised his hand, and the man went floating in the hair. Before he could scream for help, Trevor blocked the man’s windpipe.
Then he called to his nature powers, and the man got wrapped up in vines. Then Trevor released him.
He went over to the man and took a fist full of his shirt.
“Sorry about this, man. But I have no choice here,” he dragged the man and threw him in the closet.
Then just as he turned, Egayov came out of the gateway.
“What the hell took you so long?” Trevor scolded.
“I had to talk to Teresa,” he began, looking around.
“Wait, Teresa, was in the house, when I arrived?” Trevor also began looking for the bracelets.
“Dude, it’s nighttime here, I’m literary in my robes.”
“Oh, I didn’t notice, sorry for disturbing your beauty sleep.”
“Whatever, but you owe me,” he opened the closet containing the man Trevor just locked in there.
“Oh, I found him here,” Trevor explained.
“But don’t you think leaving him alive is a big mistake? I mean, what if he tells mother we were here?” Egayov looked at the man again. “And you have a hang of this vine thing, nature.”
“I knew how to control those vines. And regarding your mother finding out, that is exactly what I want.”
“If you say so. But you vines froze the last time you used them while in Yarrum, so this is an upgrade,” he reminded him.
“Oh, yeah. Now quit talking and find those bracelets. They must have sent someone to look for the man in that closet.”
They looked everywhere, leaving no stone unturned. By the time Egayov saw the bracelet on top of the closet, the room was messy.
Trevor opened a gateway, and they went through it. Seconds later, they appeared inside Egayov’s living room.
“Thanks, I will be on my way. And take off those big eyes of yours from Reyar, then I will personally kill you,” he assured him.
“Will leave? I have to go back to bed,” Egayov shouted.
“See you,” and he winked shut.
Seconds later, he appeared in front of the academies. The lazy bastards were sleeping again. Even Sebastian was sleeping on the chair.
As he turned around, he saw a chess mate. They might have been playing. He thought.
He waved his wand, and a balloon appeared in his hands, then waved it again and a needle appeared on the floor. He took the needle, they a dark smile stretched on his face.
He struck the needle in the balloon and there was a loud bung.
Sebastian fell from the chair, while Hope hit his head on the wall. So did Death.
Trevor burst out laughing on top of his lungs. Actually, slapping his hands on his knees.
“Dude, are nuts? You scared the hell out of me,” Sebastian got up.
“And yet you say we are the evil ones,” Hope said.
“Oh, please, it’s just a balloon,” Trevor said and moved closer to Hope and Death.
“What do you think you are doing? You just scared the hell out of us and now you are torturing us,” Death complained.
“I want to get you out of the vines. But first I have to put these bracelets on you,” he pinned one on Death’s leg and the other on Hope’s leg. As he touched them, a mark was left.
“Trevor, are you sure about this?” Sebastian asked.
“We have no choice, and they can’t use their powers.”
