Chapter 14 chaos

“So how was the reunion with your mom, Sapphire?!” Christine had been waiting for what felt like hours for her to come back and give her the details of what happened! She was so excited and happy for her she got the reunion she always wanted. “It was fun scheming causing mischief,” Sapphire smirked at the time she had with Eris. She wanted to go back but that stupid rule of limited time with the parent... didn't seem fair to either of them. “Well, that’s what you’re best at.” Christine laughed and smiled. She could tell that Sapphire wanted to go back. “Yeah true, but I saw Will sailing.” Sapphire brings up a name that neither of them had heard in a long time. “Will, as in Will Dampier? What’s he up to?” It surprised Christine to hear a blast from the past. She had almost forgotten about those sailing adventures. “Sailing like always probably looking for treasure again he’s bound to the sea remember?” Sapphire had remembered the time they made him a new captain but as part of the bargain as the new captain, he could only go on land every 5 years. “Yeah that’s true but isn’t he allowed to come on land soon?” Christine didn't keep track of that anymore. She had other things on her mind right now. “I don’t remember I lose track.” Sapphire didn't keep track either, but she used to when she was a part of the crew. “Yeah, who can remember anymore?” Christine kind of missed those days, but she had a new adventure now. “It’d be nice to see him again. I haven’t seen him since he left to be the new captain.”  “Yeah, I remember I was there.” Sapphire was optimistic about going sailing again, but she was excited about the new adventure of being a demigod. “Oh, right you were there.” Christine almost forgot that Sapphire was with her on those adventures. “Duh, I was helping Will kick some pirate butt.” Sapphire had fond memories of sailing with Christine, Will, and Grace. “Ah good times, good times… I miss our pirate days.” Christine had fond memories of sailing too. “Yeah I do too, but oh well we’ll get our chance someday.” Sapphire was hopeful, maybe even optimistic, but didn't want to get her hopes up too high. “I hope so I miss those days.” Christine hoped to get back on the ocean someday as well. “Yeah, I do too… oh well we don’t know where he is.” Sapphire hoped to go back as well... “We don’t know but my mom does! Come, follow me!” So, Sapphire went back to Eris’ temple to see where their friend was. “Hey mom I’m back… and I brought a guest.” Sapphire was happy to be back home  “How mischievous of you now I know you’re my daughter… what is it you need?” Eris was surprised to have her back so soon. “We need to look at the mortal world we need to look for a pirate.” Christine was curious if Will and Grace were actually there. “A pirate oh you are scheming something I like it!” Eris smirked as she heard pirate. “I knew you would mom, but just show us,” Sapphire smirked as she knew what her mom was up to “Alright follow me… so what chaos are we going to bring?” Eris was curious about what they were up to with looking for a pirate. “None yet mom we just want to know where one of our pirate friends is sailing.” Sapphire just wanted to find their friend. “And then bring chaos I like the plan.” Eris will wait impatiently for the chaos... she hated waiting. “Well, according to this he’s in Greece! But where-a good question… this country is having a lot of cities.” Christine got excited when they found him, but bummed when they couldn't find him. “He’s here in Athens I heard him say he was heading here when I sent the sea monster on him,” Eris says nonchalantly  “Thanks, mom we’ll help bring chaos later.” Sapphire while shocked, isn't surprised by anything anymore with everything going on right now. “Fine, I guess I can wait until later… now run along now.” It took a while to convince not only Zeus but Apollo and Aphrodite but eventually, they let them go undercover and keep their powers. Even though they weren’t sure how to control their powers yet. Eventually, they found him at the town’s marketplace looking for supplies. “Christine and Sapphire, what a surprise it’s been a while since we’ve sailed together hasn’t it? Will is surprised to see his former shipmates. “Been around two years Will… I’ve missed our sailing adventures… where’s Grace I thought she’d be with you.” Christine was surprised too, seeing her former captain brought back memories. “She went to look at one temple said they fascinated her… I think that’s the one ever there.” Will points to Aphrodite's temple. Christine rolls her eyes but isn't surprised. “Figures she would go to Aphrodite.” Aphrodite had told Christine that women come to her all the time. They come for...women trouble. “Which goddess is she since you see to know your gods?” Will didn't know Christine had this talent for Greek gods “Love and beauty… um-Will there’s something you should know-" Christine wanted to tell them their secret, she was tired of hiding from her loved ones... “Uh, Christine is that a smart idea? What would Zeus say!?” While Sapphire wanted to keep it a secret since she did not know what Zeus and their parents would say. “Well I told you, didn’t I? I think it’ll be ok.” Christine just wanted to tell them and get it over with, and it's true she told Sapphire and they didn't have a problem with it. “Well, you got a point there, but I turned out to be one too.” Sapphire sighed and realized she was stuck. “We can trust Will and Grace.” Christine just had this feeling that they could trust them. “Yeah, you’re right… as long as Zeus doesn’t get mad…” Sapphire just had the look of 'please don't hurt us' “As I was saying Will there’s something you should know.” Christine didn't want to hide anymore. She was tired of hiding from her friends and family. “What is it Christine you can trust me.” Will was getting concerned since it took them a while to decide on whether to tell him. “Well.." She takes a deep breath, "Sapphire and I are goddesses and the temple Grace is at is my mom-my real mom.” Christine felt relieved that it was finally said and that she didn't have to hide anymore. “Oh, wow… so I guess I should keep it quiet.” Will took it pretty well, but he was still shocked. He knew they were special but he wouldn't have guessed that.  “You can tell Grace as well.” Sapphire was kinda nervous about telling them, but Christine already told Will so might as well. “Yeah, I know… ah here she comes now.”  “Christine, Sapphire what a surprise what are you doing here I thought you two were back in London.” It surprised Grace to see them. She didn't think Athens, Greece was a popular vacation destination with young people. “Oh, just visiting… but there’s something we should tell you.” Christine was nervous again, but yet she didn't want to hide from her or anyone anymore. “What is it Christine you can trust us.” Grace getting concerned, wanted to know what was going on. “Well…" She takes a deep breath, "Sapphire and I are goddesses and the temple you were at is my mom-my real mom.” Christine felt relieved again that it was finally said and that she didn't have to hide anymore. “Oh, wow… I don’t know what to say. Do you know what you two are the goddesses of?” Grace took it well than Will but was still shocked and had little to say. “I got a guess for myself, but I’m not sure for Sapphire.” Christine had thought about this for a while, but until now she never said it out loud to anyone before.  “So, what do you think Christine?” Will was curious about what her ideas would be. “Well, I think the combo of my parents’ music and love, but the way I saved Sapphire from Hades it might be war and beauty but we don’t know until we figure it out or if Zeus tells us.” Christine felt proud of her battle with Hades. No help, no leader telling her what to do. Just her and her own wit and skills. “What do you think Sapphire?” Will nor Grace had any idea what it could be. “I know I’ll take after my mom. I’ll be the goddess of chaos and mischief. Like mother, like daughter I guess.” Sapphire smirked and laughed a little as they tried to figure this one out. “Who’s your real mom Sapphire?” Will asked worriedly. “Eris the goddess of chaos and discord she’s awesome I love being with her,” Sapphire smirked as she told them. She enjoyed talking about her mom. “Well, that’s good, we’ll probably know who to blame if we get into trouble.” Will chuckled a little but wouldn't surprise him if it was her causing trouble. “Well, it’d be me or my mom, so you’ll get a 50/50 chance of being one of us, but I’m not sure how to control my powers yet,” Sapphire said nonchalantly which kinda worried the rest of the group.  “Oh, boy then we should really lookout.” Will, the captain, got a bit worried but didn't think of it. “Ha-ha hilarious Will… don’t you have to get back on your ship? Your crew is probably waiting for you.” Sapphire laughed at him as he was teasing her. “Yeah, but they can wait I only get one time on land every few years…” Will sounded disappointed about that... “That’s true why don’t I show you the temples of my parents.” Christine was excited to show them what she learned over the past year. “Sure it’d be interesting to see them.” So the first one they saw was Aphrodite since she’s the closest out of the two of them… “Hey, mom come on down and meet some of my friends.” Christine smiled as she talked to her. Aphrodite was glad it wasn't some woman asking for help with some woman's problem. “Oh, the woman is a friend of yours I saw her about five minutes ago.” Aphrodite smiled as she talked to Christine and Grace. “Thanks, Aphrodite names Grace… Grace O’ Malley, madam.” Grace wasn't sure how you introduce yourself to a goddess so she just kindly waved. She figured it was the polite thing to do.  “And is this a friend of yours?” Aphrodite was curious about Christine's friends. “Yes, Madam Will Dampier we went sailing with Christine before.” Will did not know how to introduce himself to a goddess either so he awkwardly but kindly waved to her too. “Well, at least she was in excellent hands thanks for taking care of her while she was with you.” Like any concerned mother, Aphrodite wanted to make sure her daughter was in excellent hands.  “No problem, we enjoy having her around.” Will smiled and looked at Christine. Grace could tell something was up between them but didn't want to say anything. “Aww, thanks Will you’re making me blush…” For a little while, they were talking with Aphrodite about their adventures and the treasure they’d find. Sadly Aphrodite had to leave since Zeus was checking to see if she was staying out of trouble. Christine went visit dad, even though his temple is harder to get to it’s still nice to see him. “Ah finally my dad’s temple… you’ll like him, he’s a goofball like me.” Christine smiled as she talked to her dad. She always had a good time with her parents, but her dad was more relaxing. “Uh, Christine who’s your real dad? And where are we?” Will was really confused about what was going on. “I thought it would be obvious… Apollo god of the sun, music, and medicine.” Christine smiled with pride and happiness. “Of course, that makes sense, it doesn’t surprise me.” Will nodded and smiled at Apollo. “Hey, dad come on down and meet some friends of mine.” Christine smiled as she talked to him. “Well, any friend of yours is a friend of mine it’s a pleasure to meet you.” Apollo smiled too, glad to see Christine again. “You too sir the name is Will Dampier, and this is my girlfriend Grace O’ Malley.” he pulls her into a side hug to introduce her to Apollo. “It’s nice to meet you, sir.” Grace smiles but is clearly nervous. “You got a very talented daughter.” Will smiles at Christine and Grace notices how happy those two seem to get... “Yeah, I know I do and I’m glad to have her as a daughter.” Apollo smiled with pride as they talked about their favorite subject of Christine. “Aww, dad you’re going to make me blush.” And like Aphrodite, they talked to Apollo for a while but soon they realized it was about to sunset.  “Well, I got to do my job with the sunset, so I’ll see you later Christine.” Apollo was sad to leave, but the sun has to rise and set somehow. “Ok bye, dad do your thing.” Sadly, he had to leave, but Apollo knew that she’d be in excellent hands. The next morning Apollo woke them up at around nine in the morning. “Well, good morning to you too dad ok, ok I’m up.” Groaned Christine... she never liked the bright and sunny wake-up calls... “Groans, well it’s one way to wake someone up not a delicate way but it works.” Groaned Sapphire... she didn't have the pleasure of having one of Apollo's bright and early wake-up calls... “No, it’s not very nice Sapphire.” Christine is finally awake enough to stretch out the sleep in Apollo's temple. “Look who woke up.”  “Morning to you too Christine I remember when we first met you reminded me of Grace sweet at first, but a pirate at heart,” Will smirked but it was truly a compliment “Aww shucks Will I take it as a compliment.” Christine blushed and smiled, but was happy to see her dad walk-in "Morning everyone like your alarm clock?” Apollo greeted everyone kindly and hugged Christine.  “Ah, morning dad yeah your wake-up call is always pleasant.” Christine received the hug happily. “I know it’s supposed to be sarcastic but thanks, anyway.” Apollo laughed and hugged her some more. “Anytime dad you know that I love you.” “Of course I do, kisses her head.” “Apollo, would it be alright if Christine went sailing with me?” Will was curious if she could go. He knew that there were probably some rules that she had to follow and didn't want to get anyone in trouble. “It’s alright by me, but Zeus would have some convincing to do.” Apollo was nervous about asking Zeus but he could be persuaded... maybe... “Dad, Zeus told me that if I went anywhere with Will when I get back we would start training,” Christine remembered and then smiled. “Well, as long as you keep your word to Zeus.” Like any concerned parent, Apollo wanted to make sure that Christine was going to be ok. He didn't know Will that long nor did Christine tell them of her sailing adventures before now. “Of course I would dad I’d never lie to Zeus; he might hurt me.” Christine was nervous about what Zeus would do if she got in trouble with him... nor did she want to find out... “Yeah, he could… go on you and have fun. Just remember that we're watching you no matter where you are.” Apollo smiled and gave her a hug wishing that they didn't have to say goodbye. She wanted to go with them, yet it didn't make it any easier. “I know, but could you send Antonio I wouldn’t leave him behind?” Christine hugged him back. True she would miss her dad, but she was glad to be sailing again. She also missed Antonio as well. “Of course I’ll send him down.” Apollo smiled and wished he didn't have to go. “Thanks, dad… I guess I can wait,” Christine smirked as she joked with him. It felt like the relationship with her new parents was getting better and stronger by the day as she spent more time with them.  “Ah… that’s my girl.” So they waited about 10 minutes for him, but it’s worth the wait. Antonio just seemed to appear out of some clouds. “Ah, Antonio it’s nice to see you again.” Christine hugged him as he finally showed up. “Same to you, he kisses her, so what are you up to this time?” Antonio knew she had to be up to something, she always was. “Aren’t I always up to something? Just trust me I think you’ll like it.” Christine liked to be scheming something, always kept people on their toes. “Alright, I trust you, Christine.” Antonio was a little nervous, but he trusted her. “Well, here’s the ship Christine missed it didn’t you?” Will showed her the HMS Roebuck or at least a replica. Sadly, the real shipwrecked in Western Australia long before Christine and Sapphire rode on it so he got one close to it. It was a fifth-rate warship (out of a sixth-rate system which rated ships on size and firepower) from the British Royal Navy and it was a small ship. 26 cannons, 96ft long, 25.5ft tall, and weighed 292 tons. Still, it may not be much but Will was happy to have it. “I gotta admit I missed it feels good to be back.” Christine was glad to be back on her ship again. It wasn't the ship she remembered, but she didn't care she was just happy to be on a ship again. “Back? What do you mean?” Antonio was confused, she didn't mention being a pirate. “Well, I was sailing with Sapphire, Will, and Grace for about two years,” Christine smirked as she told Antonio her little secret. Still could surprise him. “Really?? I never would have thought you were a pirate.” Antonio was surprised, he couldn't picture her being a pirate. Well then again, maybe he could. “You’d be surprised at what I did,” Christine smirked as she reminisced on her memories. “She was actually my 2nd mate, the first mate is Grace,” Will said proudly as he reminisced on the memories. “Nice Christine! I know you’re good with a bow and arrow but let’s see how good you are with a sword.” Antonio. “Bring it on Antonio.” They fought for two hours but in the end, Christine won and got her bragging rights. What he didn't know is that Nemesis was training her on a sword when Apollo wasn't training her on a bow and arrow.
