PROLOGUE "Choose, do you want to die or live?" In my young mind, I can not understand why he's asking me something like that. But still I can't help to tremble from so much fear, when I felt the cold metal hit my forehead. While the icy rain pour down on us making me shiver from so much cold as my thin clothes begin to cling on my small and skinny body. My eyes filled with unshed tears as I look up at the man who towers in front of me, while my heart begins to thud painfully inside of my chest as fear starts to creep inside of me. His face is covered by darkness, when the dark alley cast its shadow completely hiding his face away from me. "So what will you choose, boy?" His low gruffy voice exclaim. As he smack my left cheek with the gun he's holding. I felt the stinging pain, making me yelp in pain but I muffle my voice completely afraid on what he might do to me. My lips tremble when I taste the metalic liquid that trickle down my lips, from where my cheeks have been cut. I wanted to cry for help, but I know no one will come. For living in this wretched city ever since I was born, I'm aware that no one will come to save me. 'Am I gonna die like this, at ten years old?' A soft cry broke from me, as I felt my senses clouded by hopelessness. "Hey no crying now boy, I still want to hear your answer?" The man in front of me grumble as he squat down on my level, looking directly in my eyes. Watching him through my blurry eyes, I can see that he might aged around 40 or so, with sandy brown hair, and green eyes that's filled with emotions that I can't completely comprehend in my young mind. "So what now kid, do you want to live or die. You decide?" I quietly look at him, watching him seriously. Afterwards, I wipe my cheeks with the back of my hand, as I slowly composed myself and look at him seriously. "I want to live." He just smile wickedly. _____________ CHAPTER 1 Louis I am starting to feel sleepy, while listening to Mr. Forbes as he gave me the complete data regarding our sales last month. As if I didn't know...I scoff internally but flinch when I felt a sharp pain on my stomach where my best friend nudge me with his elbow. Turning at him, I gave him a blank face. 'What?' I ask through the pack link. He lift his left brow at me, 'Don't sleep you moron!' He snap back. I just smirk mockingly and turn towards Mr. Forbes way, and saw him already sitting with a smug face. Oh thank God! "So Mr. Forbes you were saying that our sales for this month lessened by almost 5%?" Joseph Asher, a.k.a. my stupid best friend, and unfortunately beta ask. My lip twitch, and I almost grin at the sight. Seeing this arrogant human, shake like a leaf while Josh stare down at him. Well who wouldn't? As Josh has the build of a wrestler. Fully muscled and tall, with a menacing scowl painted on his face. You might feel confused to what I'm talking about, so let's start again shall we? First of all, I am Louis Caine Lexus. A multi-billionaire businessman who owns the Silver Crest Empire, a company that owns a lot of businesses from clothing lines, restaurants, real state, private hospitals and a lot more. For being 25, that might be a little far fetched but I'm kind of a genius in business so its not a big deal, not to add that I inherited the family's business which is a million dollar shipping line. Well aside from being a billionaire I'm also one of the sought after by most of the women, and unbelievably even some men. They all wanted to pursue a relationship with me, but unfortunately for them I don't do relationship. And the reason for that is something I can not say but it deeply scarred me for life, making me guarded and detach from everybody else. Not that I will talk about it anyway. And I can't really have a relationship with them anyway, even without my sort of 'phobia' thing with relationship, because I am actually a werewolf. You know, a man that can transform into a wolf. And to top it all, I'm an Alpha too. And being one, I already have someone destined to be with me but unfortunately I still couldn't find her. Its actually a bit stressful, because my mom wanted me to find my mate and settle for good. But I'm very adamant in doing so, it might be a little childish but I have my reasons. "So what it is about?" Josh suddenly perk, completely snapping me from my trance. Glancing around, I saw that the we are the one left in the conference room. The meeting might have finished while I'm the middle of my internal battle. "Just the pack, and you know my mom.." I huff tiredly, while leaning back on my chair and look at him blankly. He sigh as he lean his head on his palm and look at me with a bored expression. "Then why don't you search for your mate already. You're already 25 Lo, and you know the pack needs its Luna." I just scoff at him, shrugging my shoulders. "I don't need a mate Josh. And even though I don't have a mate, I can assure you that I can do my job and take care of my responsibilities just perfectly fine." "You can talk like that now because you still didn't meet her, just wait until the right time comes. I know you will eat those words.." He mock with a smug grin as he stood up and walk over the door. "Mark my words Lo!" The door slam shut, when Josh came out. Looking at the closed door and remembering Josh words, my mind begins to swirl as the memories of that hateful night begins to come back at me. My body begins to shake as my breathing quicken, but forcefully I shake the memories away, chaining it tightly and locking them in the bottom of my heart. Panting, I feel the beads of sweat slowly trickle down my chin. Gripping the table tightly, I let out a silent scream. No one knows about what happened to me, and I don't plan to tell now. I am just fine on my own and I don't need anyone. If I can only live alone I would gladly do so, but its impossible for me as I'm a werewolf and the Alpha. I need a mate for the pack, but I truly wish that I don't meet mine. The beautiful woman in front of me said. She is actually my mother, and for being 49 she still look like she's in her 20's with rich olive tanned skin, blonde wavy hair and gorgeous gray eyes. We have the same skin tone color even the eyes but my hair, looks and height came from my deceased father. Brushing my slightly wavy black hair, I pout at her. "I don't wanna.." "Seriously Louis! You're not getting any younger, especially me! I still want to see my grandchildren, so if you know what's best for you I advice you to listen to me!" She snap angrily, while her hands are on her hips as she glare at me. "But mom, that pack is situated in Egypt! That's too far!!" Her eyes turn to slits as she saunter over me, "And what's the use of your private jet huh?!" She sneer angrily while poking my chest with her point finger, and I can almost see the steam coming from her ears. Signing defeatedly, I took her hands away from my chest and peck her cheeks. "Okay, you won I'm going....but can I bring Josh with me?" Her eyes glitter mischievously, while a smirk came on her lips. "You can bring any help that you can get honey.." Oh boy... -- "Who is this woman anyway?" Josh ask with a bore tone, as he look at the picture of a young woman that my mother gave me. We are on the den of the pack house and I just finish telling him about my mother's 'scheme'. "The only daughter of Reuben Sola, a friend of my father.." I mutter, while I snatch the picture from Josh hands. The woman in the picture is actually pretty attractive. She has long and wavy black hair, bright brown eyes, pale pinkish lips and creamy pale complexion. "So, your mom told you to meet her?'' He ask. ''I guess.." I shrugged. "And to meet her, you need to go to Egypt?" "Pretty much.." I murmur. He quirk his brows at me and cross his arms in front of his chest. "And for the love of God! I need to go with you?!" I just nod my head, then like I thought he would do he...slap me?! Huh?! Seriously slap me?! "What the f**k?!" I huff angrily, while I jump on my feet and gave him my best hateful glare. "I should be the one asking that, you stupid bastard! Why I need to accompany you? I'm not your damn baby sitter!!" Rubbing my cheeks, I just pout at my best friend who is busy cursing me with every language he knows while pacing frantically in front of me. "Come on Josh, I need you with me there not just because you're my beta but as my best friend. So please.." He stop pacing and turn at me and study my face for a while. Then he let out a sigh and slump down at the couch. "Damn you Lo, for being my best friend..." I just grin at him and lean on my seat. Well, that went good enough. At least one problem solve. He puff a mouthful of breath and took a handful of chips from the bowl on the table. Then he suddenly snap his head at me, "But why Egypt? I just shrugged my shoulders, not really knowing the true reason about my mother's action.. But really, why Egypt? _________________ CHAPTER 2 Louis The whole car ride from the airport is quite intense. Or I might say the whole journey from L.A up to this moment is full of intensity, and its quite unnerving to be honest. I cough a little and glare at the person beside me. "Mom, what's the meaning of this?!" Josh is quiet behind us, but I can feel his nervousness too. My mother just grin cheekily at me, and flip her hair. "Well darling, I want to make sure that you're really going to meet this woman. And of course, its been a long time since I've been in Egypt. I need to have a vacation too, you know..and oh, thanks for the free ride by the way..." I let out a big sigh (which I think is becoming a habit now), and turn my eyes outside the open window beside me. Its honestly quite hot, to my liking. But I know I can't tell that to my mother, because I'm sure she's gonna skin me alive once a single complain came pass my lips. And believe me, she will really do that. The weather might not be the best, but the scenery is not that bad. Well, at least its different to the busy life that I'm accustomed to in L.A. Suddenly, I yelp and even my mother let out a string if curses that I don't know she knew when the car jolt and stop. "What's happening?" Josh inquire. "Yeah, what's wrong?!" My mom exclaim quite tensely as she frown at the driver. The dark man, who is the driver and a werewolf from the pack that we are going to turn toward us, and to our surprise he just grin evilly.
