Bear beast

Blair and Wolfe basically slept the day away, the both of them not keen on setting off after these creatures, and both figured it's best to wait for Maikah on the next moon. When it was finally out Wolfe shifted into a werewolf again, Blair watched him closely during this time, she somehow liked seeing his structure double it's size like that, his muscles bulge in his skin, she stared hazily not realising he saw her. "Uhm, is something wrong?" He asked. "No, why?" "You had one of those dreamy stares on me again?" Blair blinked, she felt her face warm up again and turned away "I apologize, I, couldn't help" Wolfe felt self-conscious now that she said that, he felt his face warm up under his fur "I, know my transformation is different from yours, I hear my bones crackle and pop, my skin stretch, it must be sickening, next time I'll go somewhere alone ok?" "No! That's not it!" She said quickly "Its not, sickening..." She placed her two fingers against each other "I admire it" He frowned "Admire it?" "That was the wrong word, uh..." She looked away "I... Well..." There was a sudden movement that made them both jump, the mist came out of the shadows and Maikah appeared to them. "Sorry I've startled you two" She said seeing their faces. "Yeah, uh, no worries, it's not like we are after creatures that hide in the shadows or anything" Wolfe said chuckling. "I come baring bad news you two" Maikah said straight "The situation we are in is more grave than I originally presumed" Blair took a step forward "We're listening" "Many creatures escaped Blair, and you have to go immediately to try and stop them, your first target will be the devil dog pack" Blair and Wolfe looked at each other. "It's in Logan country, back in west Virginia, not far off from where you met Tom" Maikah continued. "Is Tom in danger?" Blair asked. "No, he's further north at Chapmanville" "Ok, well head that way, is there anything else you can tell me?" Blair asked. Maikah's ears drooped "I wish I could have sent you when you were a lot older Blair, please forgive me" "It's ok, you saved my life after all" Maikah nodded "Then another thing, you will discover how your wolf forms will aid you in the shadows, but as your human self, now more than ever Blair, don't be afraid to call the elements again" Her eyes widened "I, never thought about that..." "Have you ever tried doing it since that day?" Blair shook her head "I was too afraid" "Then, let your fear for the elements aid you against the fear for the darkness, you will see that your own special abilities will always light the dark up, and guard you from your nightmares" Maikah said standing back. "I'll, try..." Blair said softly. "Good luck you two, the pack is hiding in Logan country, be careful" The large astral wolf disappeared and left the two silent. They just spoke of this a moon before, now their fears became a reality. "You, you up for this?" Blair asked Wolfe. "Well, sure, as long as I can shape shift into this werewolf, I'd put up a fight" Blair smiled then jumped shifting into her wolf form "Then I have an idea, whenever we go for these creatures, we do it on a full moon" "Yeah, gives is the best advantage right?" He said standing ready to run. "Maikah doesn't call it the hunters moon for nothing" She said and the two darted into the forest as fast as they could. "It will take us a while to reach Logan, maybe the whole night!" Wolfe called as they ran. "You're right, last time I ran until sunrise! I think the best thing to do is run to a neighboring town, then rest up, and only go look for those things on a full moon!" She called back. "Good idea..." There was a blur, then a sharp roar, Wolfe got struck making him disappear from her side instantly. "Wolfe!" She screamed sliding to a halt, she turned back and ran to get to him, in the distance she heard the roars and snarls, Wolfe was facing something big! Something awful! She broke through the brush to find the huge bear like creature on top of him, it's head like a wolf, it's eyes glowing red, the first thing that ran through her mind was the Tsul 'Kalu. "Wolfe!" "Run Blair! This thing is too strong!" He roared clawing but it effortlessly grabbed one of his arms and tore it off by the elbow. "f**k!" Blair cussed for the first time in her life! She stood fear stricken, this thing was effortlessly taring up a werewolf! Effortlessly! "Run Blair!" "N, no! NO!" She roared and charged, jumping up to the beast and sunk her fangs deep into it's hide, but she felt it's muscles were so thick and strong she barely got penetration. The bear roared standing on it's hind legs then fell backwards, crushing Blair under it's bulk, she felt the wind leave her and gasped. The bear stood up again and gave her a glare, then ignoring her turned back to Wolfe. "No...!" She cried gasping and wheezing profoundly, trying as much as she could to reinflate her lungs. Wolfe was on it when it faced the other way, he bit it square over it's muzzle viciously shaking his fangs to saw them deeper into it's skin. The bear roared and swiped at him but he was off, around and grabbed him on the hind leg heel, ripping hard to tare away the tendants, but the bear turned and fell forward, dropping right in top of him. Blair had her wind back, the bear opened its canine like jaws again but she stormed and grabbed his nose hard, also shaking as hard as she could, she was too focused on her task and forgot about it's claws, it struck her hard sending her tumbling back helplessly. Her heart pounded in her chest, adrenaline fueled her, she got up again but an icy picture met her, the bear stood looking at her, in it's jaws, hung the head of her companion, spine and all.
