Chapter 6

We walked towards the door but just as we reached it, they took a left and went into another door that did not lead to the outside. They opened the door and it was an empty room with a chair in the middle with a large plastic cover under it on the floor. Probably for blood. I gulped loudly as fear slowly started to creep up on me. I was not afraid of dying because I had made peace with the life I have and nature seemed to love me, but what I was afraid of was the way I was going to die. I could handle a shot to the head or even a quick snap of the neck. You know something quick and easy, but torture was always a huge no-no for me. The men took me to the chair and tied my hands and feet to the chair, making sure there was no escape. I was quiet because I was afraid that if I spoke they would sense my fear. After they left, the room went dark. I mean so dark that when I looked down I could not even see my body. I could also not hear anything, which meant that the room was sound proof. That is never a good sign. I started to panic when I counted off the minutes in my head. Were they going to leave me here to just go insane? What was the plastic for then? My breath became shallow and I struggled to suck in air to breath. No, not now. I cannot have a panic attack now! I knew that showing any sign of fear was weakness, so I had to stop this panic attack pronto. I remember when I was in middle school the nurse would always sing to me and when I grew older I started to sing to myself to stop them. If I sing now, people will think I am crazy, but that is alright. I started singing ‘amnesia’ from 5 SOS. When I felt my heart calm down and my breath even out, I just enjoyed singing so I sang different songs to pass the time. Maybe I was crazy? About my whole playlist later the lights went on and I had to squint due to the sudden bright light. When my vision was back to normal, I saw the guy that looked in charge, but I knew that the real Christian Gonzalez would never reveal himself in public. He walked over to me with a smile on his face that sent shivers down my spine, but I never show fear, so I smiled back at him. “Hey dude long time no see… I was beginning to run out of songs to sing.” I said at him, which seemed to make him irritated. “Well I guess we could start with cutting out that feisty tongue of yours.” Oh goodness! Here comes the torture but I can still have a little fun, right? “Oh, I do not think that is a good idea because then how will I sing for you guys?” I asked, giving him an even more irritated look. “That is true, so I guess that is off the table. So tell me Skylar how are you related to the mafia world?” he asked going straight to the point. “Well you see sometimes I watch shows on Netflix and they contain something about mafias and I always wondered what it would be like to be in one but you see as they only exist in the movie world that would be pretty hard now wont it?” I played dumb hoping to buy me some time as I was not ready for the torturing. “Oh really… so how do you know the name Christian Gonzalez?” wow this man does not play around. “Oh yeah that… you see I am supposed to get married to this rich player who cannot keep his hands to himself at all… I mean that guy is pervy as hell…” I got interrupted “Get to the point.” He said and I rolled my eyes at him. “You are no fun… but in any way so this guy is obsessed with mafia stuff and all that and he keeps saying something about Christian whatever… so I decided to say I did not expect you guys to actually kidnap my sexy ass and kill my hunk of a best friend.” Wow I could be an actor because all the stuff I am saying is totally made up except the sexy part but the rest was the biggest made up story ever. “It is such a shame that I have to hurt such a pretty girl.” I did not even have time to react when a knife went straight through my hand making me screem in pain. It was excruciating and tears ran down my face. I told you I am not good with torture. “So this time the truth please?” he said. Even though I was not good with torture, it does not mean I am going to spill all my secrets just like that. “Aww you just said please.” I said, smiling at him. I guess I should not have done that because then the knife was ripped out of my hand and stabbed into my other hand. An ear-piercing scream left my throat at his action and the tears fell down my chin, soaking my hoodie.”I would hate to move on to the legs.” He said, looking me in the eye. I just looked at the ground, not about to say anything any time soon as I was in a lot of pain. “Now tell me, how are you involved with the mafia?” he asked in a cold tone. I did not answer and it made him mad, so he gripped my chin tightly, making me look at him. When I still did not answer, he punched me in the face, making my head turn to the left, and I spat out some blood. I did not look at him, which angered him some more, so he started to choke me, cutting off my air supply. His grip tightened every few seconds and I could not breathe, which made me see spots. However, before I could succumb to the darkness, his phone rang and he let go, making me gasp for air. He answered his phone still looking at me. “Yes boss?” he asked, and I could hear a faint voice on the other end but could not make out what was being said. “Alright, I will be there in ten.” He hung up the phone and came to me. “You are one lucky girl. We will continue this tomorrow.” He turned towards the men that were watching the little show and told them something. When he walked out, the men came to untie me and took me back to my cell where they put my cuffs back on. When they were done, they locked my cell, not before I could see the angry look on their faces, but what surprised me was that it was not towards me but rather their boss.
