Chapter 8

“Well, I did tend to get on that asshole’s nerves. He is one tough cookie but also a really weird person.” I said, thinking back to how he asked me on a date and the next moment I was drugged and woke up in a cell. “What did you do? I mean not to put my nose in your business but for them to put you in here where I do not think any woman has ever been… it must have been something big.” He asked the one question we did not talk about. “If you are willing to tell me why you are in here I will tell you why I am in here.” I said to him making a deal. I know he will not go for it because you do not talk about all the wrongs you have done in the mafia because you do not know who might be listening. What I did not expect was for him to actually take the deal! “Great, well, I do not really know why I am here, because one moment I was in a café, you know, minding my own business, when this guy… who I now know as the asshole… came up to and asks me on a date but what he did not count on was for me to know who he was and who he worked for. Every top group of the Black Delta’s has a certain tattoo that shows their position and this stupid son of a gun did not do very well in hiding his. So I knew something was up. When I got back to my best friend’s apartment, he was unconscious on the floor and there were men there about to kill him. I took care of them easily and then the arrogant, totally oblivious asshole walked into the apartment with a back up. He was probably scared. But they killed my best friend, which was totally super unnecessary. And then I had to open my big mouth and then they caught me. So yeah I still do not know exactly why I am here.” I was not going to tell him that Armand was still alive or that I was working for other mafias because I do not trust him that much. “Wow, that is amazing. I mean how do you even know about the whole tattoo thing?” he asked. “Oh like you mean like your burn mark on your back, which means that you were or still are working with Estelle and that is probably why you are in here.” He looked at me shocked but I just smirked at him knowing I was right. “H-how… how did you…” I cut him off “Oh please Jay I am in this cell not because I am stupid and totally oblivious I actually see stuff you know.” I said still smirking at his shocked face. “So let me guess Estelle send you here to get info and maybe a few weaknesses because The Black Delta’s are the only mafia bigger than hers.” I said looking at him. “Yeah that is true but the most shocking thing is that I am her son.” My eyes widened at that. Could he be the son she was setting me up with? Maybe she has another son? “That is a twist. Interesting.” I said, still a bit shocked and confused. “Does she have any other sons?” I asked hopefully. “Well, yes, but my little brother is like ten.” He said, and I was shocked. He was the one she was planning on getting me to marry! “Why would she send you?” I asked. Because if she was planning on me marrying him, why was he undercover? He said he was here for two weeks so maybe she wanted to give him a reason to go back. “She did not. I came here on my own so that I could prove to my mother that there was a reason that The Black Delta’s are the biggest mafia in the world. But since you know so much about this world you should know how stubborn she is and she does not want to accept the truth.” He rolled his eyes at his mother. “Yeah believe me I know.” I accidentally said out loud, but luckily, before he could say something, the dark room door opened and two men were carrying a very bloody Percy back to his cell. I looked at him with pity. He had two black eyes that were swollen and his lip was cut and he had a stab wound in his leg. He looked bad and I guess that is life in the mafia. After they put him back in his cell and tied up his feet, one of the men turned to me “The boss will see you soon.” He looked at me with pity and walked away, but I jumped up and screamed after him. “WAIT! What do you mean the boss is going to come see me? I do not have that on my schedule today! And quite frankly, I do not want the boss. I will take Mister asshole any day just do not give me the boss!” I said, but it all landed on deaf ears. Oh my goodness this is going to be bad! I cannot and probably will not survive El Diablo or Christian Gonzalez himself. I felt a panic attack coming on, but I had to focus on something else, so I turned my attention to Percy who was holding his leg. “Come here.” I told him, holding the last piece of my shirt. He looked at me skeptically. “Oh great man, we do not have time for trust issues! Do you want to bleed out?” I asked. He still just stared at me. “Dude, you heard the man. I am up soon and if I do not stop the bleeding you will be dead by the time it is night.” I said in a serious tone and he scooched closer to me with his leg. I bent down and tied the piece of shirt around his upper leg just above the wound to stop the blood flow. “This is going to hurt but please don't hurt me because I am helping you, okay?” I asked, and he nodded at me. I ripped one of his pants legs with my teeth and then wrapped it neatly around his wound. He was screaming in pain but when I was done he was breathing heavily. “Thanks,” he said. I sat down resting my head against the bars that separated us and with my back against the wall. To say that I was scared was an understatement. I was downright petrified at what was going to happen. I felt another panic attack coming on. Damn, this stuff will not give me a brake will they? I started breathing heavily but this time I did not want to stop it because I would rather surrender myself to darkness.
