Chapter 1
At first, I didn't understand anything. Arranged? Prince? Marriage? I was so stupid to believe my family loved me. They forced me to marry someone I didn't love. It's been a couple of months since I was forced to move in with Yibo, Prince of Ethemor. Every day has been hell. Forced to sleep with him and kiss him. I'd rather been left on the streets to rot than live with him.
"Are you ready?" said a random voice. "Ready for what?" I said in confusion. "Are you at least changed? Have you put on some decent clothes?" he questioned. "Yes," I answered. I walked to the door and followed the man. "Did you forget?" Forget what? Was today an important day? "Today is the Royal Ball. Most of the town has been invited. You will have to dance," he reminded me. Does that mean my family is coming? I don't want to see them, not after all this. I'd do anything to see them rot in hell. "You're late," a voice says behind me. "My apologizes, my lord," said the man. I turn around and notice that it was Yibo. He grasped my hand and dragged me to the garden. Confusion spread throughout my body.
"Why did you bring me here?" I ask slightly nervous, he places his mouth near my ear. "We have to practice our dance. We have a couple of minutes," he whispered into my ear causing to send chills down my spine. He carefully reached for my waist and picked me up. "You look lovely today," said Yibo. "I haven't seen you in a whole week. Where have you been?" I questioned him. "Don't tell me that you've missed me. I thought you hated me," he said putting me down. "You didn't answer my question. Where have you been?" I questioned him again as I walked to the swing. "Well, I'm not gonna answer that. That's none of your business, Zhan," he replied. "Well, we should be heading back inside. I think the Ball has begun," I said walking back inside.
"Your baby brother was born." I paused. "Born? When? Why didn't you tell me, earlier?" I responded. He looked at me in confusion. "I didn't tell you because I thought you hated your family. Whenever I walked by you changing you said, 'I'd do anything to see you guys rot in f*****g hell.' So I didn't think you'd wanna see the newborn," he replied. "I wasn't talking about him! He wasn't even born. How can I hate someone who wasn't born yet," I sighed? "Let's just go greet the people."
At first, I thought the Ball was going to be boring. But I met some new people, you could call them friends. I met two people named Wang Zhuocheng and Ji Li. They were the same age as me, 18. I even met my brother, his name was Caihong, Caihong Zhan. He was beautiful.
"I'm sorry," Yibo said as he walked closer. "Huh? For what? You didn't do anything wrong, so what are you talking about?" I ask. "Never mind, let's just get ready for the dance," he sighed.
His hand held my waist carefully as I set my hand on his suit. Our hands clasping together, like the most delicate and stunning puzzle they were. We locked eyes for a couple of seconds. "By the way, when you said 'It's none of your business,' it is. Don't forget that I'm your soon-to-be husband," I whispered into his ear. "Right, I know. Don't need to remind me," he whispered back. We danced down the extravagant ballroom in the castle where we both lived in. It looked as if all he cared about was the sweet sensation my touch brought him, the way that I laughed when he spun me around. Eventually, the music faded, the lights dimmed. The dance was over.
I walked back to the room all tired of today's dance. I just wanted to fall onto the floor and sleep. "Wait for me, I'll carry you back to our room!" Yibo shouted. I stood there waiting for him. He picked me up in a bridal style. He walked to our room, and carefully put me down. "Let me change you into some more comfortable clothing love," he told me. He kissed me on the cheek and wish me a good night's sleep. "Till tomorrow," he whispered. "Someday you'll love me back too."
