Rosalie was still baffled and in a near daze. Even when Kiko noticed that there was something amiss, and approached her to gently shake her arm, Rosalie did not react but instead kept staring ahead at Kiko.
"Did you...?" Rosalie began, unable to find the proper words to convey what she truly felt, "Did you not see the guards that were just here?" At hearing that question, Kiko peeked over Rosalie's shoulder because she thought the guards had suddenly appeared, but there was no one down the passage.
"Just now! They were here just now but they did not see either me nor you!" Rosalie's voice was slightly raised and her words confused Kiko.
"No, I didn't see or here anyone approaching... Are you sure you heard right, Rose?" Kiko asked with concern clearly written all over her face. Rosalie
