As the hours passed from morning to afternoon, Lucy came to realize a couple of things that would make adjusting to her new life a bit more difficult than she initially anticipated. When it was time for her to have lunch, Ida brought a tray into the tea room of the apartment. She asked why lunch was brought up because she wanted to sit with the other women, and she was told that it was not necessary for the brides to dine together, even for dinner. Life as sister-wife did not mean that they would all be together and act like one large family.
