With the preparations for the winter ball underway, Creed had to leave early for the north, leaving Rosalie at her new home. She was not too bothered by his absence. It wouldn't be long before they would see each other again because she would depart for the north in a day or so. There was much that needed to be done including getting a dress fitted and taking the final lessons she would need from Esme. She could not possibly prepare for such an event on her own and would need Ida's help, too.
Later that night, she was soaking in a bathtub of hot water and bubbles, her arm draped over the edge of the bathtub and humming a tune. It was a song she did not remember but the melody was stuck in her head and she enjoyed humming it. She was relaxing in the bathtub, unaware of the door slowly open
