After standing in that position for a few minutes, Rosalie turned around, her tears now dry, and rested the side of her face against Creed's chest. She listened to fast thudding of his heartbeat underneath his flesh. To stay that way forever was a dream but it would be impossible to achieve.
He had come to visit her that night because he had been occupied all day and needed to find a way to sneak into her room without being seen by her maid. Ida would not have allowed him to enter her bedroom as it was not right and indecent. Until they would be married, sharing a bed with a woman was forbidden and Esme's hair would have turned grayer if she learned of what he had done.
