Einith sat down in front of the tree, tired down to his bones. They had scoured even inch of the glade a second time, down to the last blade of grass, and still they came up empty. It was heartbreaking to watch Lasra mutter and crawl on his hands and knees, alert for any sign of his dwarven knight, but each time Einith tried to make him rest for a little while, Lasra snarled and backed away. Beside him, Tae drooped on the grass with that same weariness. His lover had been diligent in his search, just like Lasra, but even his elven stamina waned beneath the sustained activity.
