We were sitting at the table eating. Everyone was talking and laughing. Ember was having a great time. She didn't pay attention to all the people. She was just excited to celebrate her birthday with family and friends. I just sat back and watched. I loved seeing her happy. I noticed a few guys standing to the side checking her out. They were wolves. Xavier noticed it too and growled at them. They hurried up and looked away. He was very over-protective when it came to Ember. She was our mate. So what if guys checked her out? She was hot. They are guys.
Okay, I take that back. I didn't like guys looking at my mate either. But unlike Xavier, I was keeping my over-protectiveness in check.
