Stephan (POV)
I was happy to see Ember eating. I was surprised that my bear didn't get upset when Ember got jealous of Rex and the attendant, or when he kissed the top of her head. I was actually relieved I didn't like feeling jealous of Ember's mates. There was no reason for me to be jealous of them. Her bear was my mate and nothing anyone said or did was going to change that.
I could stop looking at Ember. I was worried. I was doing my best to try and hide how worried I truly was. I know it was probably stupid to be as worried as I was. If what Sasha said was true, we were children of the gods. We had nothing to fear. But I just had this nagging feeling that something was not right. It might have been because of the ache that stayed in my stomach never going away.
