Ember (POV)
I just finished opening all my gifts. I didn't really pay much attention to what I opened. I smiled and acted excited and thanked the person who had gifted it to me. I had never gotten so many gifts before. I had been excited earlier. But now all I could think about was my mom and dad. The emptiness I felt without them.
I wanted them here with me. I wanted more time with them. I had so many questions I wanted to ask. So much I wanted to know about each of them. But I would never have that chance.
They told me they were both very proud of me. My mom said they had watched over me when I was in Dimitri's pack. She said she was proud of how strong I was and how I didn't let them break me.
