Victor (POV)
I have been running border patrol with Jeremy, Sam and Malakye for the last hour and a half. Nothing out of the ordinary has happened. We crossed paths with a few guys, but they hadn't seen or heard anything either. Sam mind-linked Jason a few times to check in. Still no word from Jameson or Xavier. I was thinking about going by the cottage to check on Ember. I know she was still sleeping, but I had this gut feeling that something was wrong. Something was feeling off.
I stopped and scanned the area. Sam came up beside me.
"Something feels off." he said, scanning the area with me.
"What do you mean?"
"I don't know, I just have this weird feeling that something is wrong."
