Rex (POV)
I didn't want to leave until someone was at the cottage with Ember. Victor was in a hurry to get to the tunnels. I understood the urgency, but I was not leaving Ember until Sam was here to look after her. I was not taking any chances when it came to my mate.
I held Ember in my arms. I could feel her anxiety through our bond.
"Rex," Victor said. "We got to go."
"Not until Sam gets here." I said as I leaned down to kiss Ember's neck.
"Really," Victor said, rolling his eyes at me.
"Can you not feel her anxiety? I am trying to take her mind of it."
"What by getting her turned on?" Stephan laughed.
"No asshole, I'm just trying to calm her down. Our touch helps calm her. I was trying to touch her without being obvious, that's what I was doing."
