~~~~Raine's P.O.V The room was empty but in my mind I could still see Scar's body laying dead on the floor. Rev had been taken for experiments, and Clay was still away. I was alone and my headache was raging worse than ever. My eyes were still bleeding even though I'd stopped crying hours ago. What if Rev was right about those voices he had heard? Maybe I'm gonna start hearing them soon. But apart from the throb of pain echoing in my head, I didn't hear anything. I looked at the palms of my hands where puddles of blood had gathered from my old cuts. My old cuts which hadn't bled for months. I was bleeding everywhere, I didn't feel dizzy. I didn't feel like I was dying, apart from the headache that thumped in my head. Maybe that's how it happens though, maybe death creeps up on you, Something was happening to me. To my body, but what the hell was it? A small trickled of wet dripped down my lip. I frowned and touched it, red. It was blood. I was bleeding from my nose. Drip drip drip. The drops splattered on the floorboards sinking into the wood. I was fascinated by the colour in the small specks of light, so red and deep. A puddle of blood had formed now about the size of my hand, but I wasn't scared. I should be terrified. I was dying. But I wasn't, maybe I was going mad like Rev. Maybe everyone ended up mad in here. I reached out my fingers and splashed them in the sticky blood and a tingle of heat ran up my arm. Shit. I pulled back in alarm, it hadn't hurt, more like a small electric shock type of feeling. I bit my lip, took a breath and extended my fingers towards the pool again. The tingle of heat came but this time I was expecting it. The puddle of blood rippled. A chill enveloped me as I pulled my hand away, and the puddle followed in the air under my hand... This isn't happening. The puddle was gone from the floor, no red stain was on the floorboards. Nothing showed the that it had even been there. This was too weird, strange. It wasn't real. Could be real. A small ball of blood was hovering under my fingers. I moved my hand and it followed. Shit. I took a breath calming myself and flung the liquid away from me. It splattered back to the wood and sunk back through the cracks like nothing had even happened. What the hell. ~~~~Rev's P.O.V "Just a few more and we're done." Mr Creeds smiled at me, Stupid asshole. He sank more injections into my veins. I hardly felt the pain. I hardly felt anything apart from a mute anger inside. Raine had done this to me. If she hadn't shouted and banged the door. Then Scar would be alive and I wouldn't be stuck here with him. Was Scar being dead a good thing? Scar was bad wasn't he? I couldn't remember. When I was around Creeds the voices were silent unless he stopped talking, then I could hear the whispers again. I was sat in a chair, in a plain white room. A room where a boy had, had his nails ripped off in here for crying when he had an experiment. A girl had been r***d in here by a Man. I only knew because a wave of visions had showed me when I'd walked in, "So tell me Rev, how are you feeling?" Mr Creeds stared at me with his cold eyes, "Why pretend you care?" I muttered, "I do care Rev, I care about everyone in here. You all complain about these experiments but you are helping the world. All of you." He said and injected something else into my arm. He was wearing a whitecoat and rubber gloves. His aftershave filled the room with soft fresh pine. Before I could tell him where to stick his lies and bullshit up his ass, a soft knock echoed on the door, "Yes?" Mr Creeds said softly. The door opened and a guard looked through, "Sir there's been reports of The Girl on bottom floor..." "Who reported them?" Mr Creed was frowning, "The boy/ His name is Cal? He said you knew what he was doing up there?" The guard shifted evidently uncomfortable, "Very well. Lets go and see if our mystery girl is back." He muttered, "I suppose you could come as well Rev." ***** Still Rev's P.O.V ***** "You see Rev, every few weeks I get a report like this. A girl with red hair and silver eyes, haunting a corridor, usually around the same time a Guard or Scientist will end up dead." Mr Creeds spoke as we walked down a huge staircase, "You mean like a ghost, Sir?" I asked remembering the sir just in time, "I believe in science, not the supernatural." He muttered and turned into a corridor, "But what could it be then?" I said. He shrugged, "Science." Which apparently was a good enough answer. At the end of the passage-way a boy stood beside two bodies which were on the floor, dead, "I have no idea how it happened." Oh the boy was Cal. The other one who thought I was mad, maybe I was mad, but the voices were real. Then I realized something. Why was Cal up here? And why did Mr Creeds seem to expect him here? "You saw the girl?" Creeds asked. Cal answered but I wasn't paying attention. A voice was whispering so soft in my mind. I focused on it, closing my eyes and blocking out Creeds and Cal's voices, *"Can you hear me?!" The voice whispered. I nodded slightly, "f**k! That's well, unexpected!and you, you're Raine's new friend arn't you?"* I am now 100% crazy. I was hearing an invisible girl who I couldn't see and to top it all off she was a friend of Raine's. *"I'm not invisible. Well I am, but I can be seen sometimes."* She said inside my head. I could talk to a girl through my mind. Wonderful. As if I didn't already hear enough voices, "Are you the girl they're talking about?" I asked her. By they I meant Cal and Creed, *"Yeah. I killed the guards as well, stupid bastards." She snarled. I opened my eyes and stared at the bodies. Beside them a darker shadow lingered. In the shape of a body. No one else seemed to see it, "Is that you the shadow? Are you a ghost?" I thought to her, *"I'm not dead. I don't think I am anyway. The Men for trying to escape. Put me in a small dark room, reminded me of a washing machine. I thought I would die but the next thing I know I'm floating out of it and through walls. I'm not always like a shadow. I can be normal. But it takes a lot of effort."* She sighed and the shadow, Sky floated around Cal in circles. He didn't even notice, "Why didn't you just leave?" I asked, *"I try all the time. Every time I go outside. I get all dizzy and black out. Next thing I know I'm back inside the washing machine and I can float through it again"* "Have you tried in um, normal form to get out?" *"Of course I have. It doesn't work. Oh they're talking to you".* She said meaning Mr Creed was saying something, "Rev. Go back with Cal. I will take you out tomorrow for more experiments and please in the meantime, try not to kill anymore guards. I have a feeling you may start to regret it." He chuckled, *"He knows you know."* Sky whispered. "Knows about what?" *"About your voices, about Raine's blood, about Cal's time. He knows everything that goes on in here. I watch him sometimes. He enjoys it, pretending he's clueless. It's all a game Rev and you only have one life left." Sky drifted away through a wall, "Will you come back?" "Of course I will. You're the first person who's been able to see me. Not even Raine could and I couldn't just turn up in her room in real form. Would'a freaked her out." Sky laughed and her voice left my mind. I was filled with a peaceful silence. Raine had said that Sky had been taken away a year ago. That must have meant that she had been floating around her for a year alone. I thought I had it bad. "Come on" Cal walked down the corridor. What was he up too? "Why are you up here?" I asked. Cal shrugged and pulled a piece of paper from his pocket. He wrote something down with a pen and pocketed the paper again. I grabbed his shirt slamming him up against the wall, "s**t Rev, calm down. Can't breath..." He gasped turning a shade of purple in the loom of the corridor. "Tell me what your up to, sucking up to Creeds. Why did he expect you up here?" I hissed and loosened my hold on him. Cal snarled, "I'm...."He glanced around, "I'm trying to escape. I'm gonna get everyone out...." "Impossible. One person can't escape let alone everyone." I chuckled, "Yeah well, no one's ever tried have they? Maybe if everyone worked together." "Ok I get it, team spirit. Bla bla bla, but what about Creeds? How are you getting around him? Why does he trust you so much?" I asked. Cal ran his hands through his hair, "At first he didn't, he still doesn't, not fully. It's my problem though, nothing to do with you ok?" I slammed him against the wall enjoying the sense of power I held, "Too right it has something to do with me. You're in our room. I wanna know if I'm talking to a traitor." I snarled in his face. The voices in my head sang louder with glee, "Yeah you think I'm the traitor here? I'm not the one who's holding up someone who's trying to help get everyone out of here to the wall." He hissed at me, "I'm no f*****g traitor." I slammed him against the wall once and let him go. Cal winced and brushed off his arms. I'm getting stronger. "You're gonna have to learn to control that Rev." He mumbled as he walked down the passage way, "Learn to control what?" "That rage. You've already killed two people. In a minute it won't matter to you who you kill, and then Raine...." "Don't talk about Raine. You know nothing about her" I snarled from behind him. Cal stopped outside our door, blinking back at me, "Oh I do. I may not be you, but she trusts me Rev, and I'm not crazy..." He sighed, "...look all I'm saying is, don't make me have to protect her from you because I will." I stared at him chuckling softly, "...And that shows how well you know her. She doesn't need protecting." I laughed and walked into the unlocked door. Raine was staring at a puddle on the floorboards. A puddle of liquid that pooled around her. Deep, red, scarlet. Blood, her blood, "s**t. Raine." I ran up to her and grabbed her hands. She looked at me, "Tell me I'm not crazy." Raine whispered, "What's wrong?" Cal asked behind me, "f**k off." I snarled at him and looked back at her blue eyes that were tinged red, "You're not crazy." I whispered, but she shook her head. "No, you have to watch." Raine sliced a nail down her arm. Shit. I didn't try and stop her even as the blood flowed out falling to the floor, "Raine!" Cal barged me out of the way, "What are you doing? How can you just watch her." I stood up and grabbed his shirt flinging him across the room. "Shut the f**k up." I snarled at him, and looked back at Raine. Her hand was in mid-air hovering under it a small puddle of blood, "Can you see it?" She whispered. "Yeah, that's mad." Raine looked at me with tears in her eyes, "I'm sorry." The blood splashed back to the floorboards, "Sorry for what?" "Getting you sent away." She mumbled. I looked at her and sat on the floor boards. Cal stayed where he was in silence, He's got some sense. "It doesn't matter." I mumbled. "Are you going mad?" She asked. I shrugged, "Who isn't?" A warmth enveloped me as a single voice entered my mind. Sky was back, "Hey." I thought to her, *"No time for chit chat Rev." She was gasping hard...how can shadows gasp? "What's wrong?" I asked, "Rev?" Raine said. I ignored her, *"He's coming. I don't even know how it happened. I saw him and then he did something and bam the next thing I know he's coming."* Sky stuttered, "Who's coming?" *"I have to go. He can see me. I'm scared Rev. I'm scared for you, and Raine..." Sky was gone in a breath. "What is it?" Raine was staring at me. "I dunno. I have to tell you something, something odd..." She nodded, "...you know Sky? Well she's kinda not dead." I muttered, "Kinda not dead?" Raine frowned, "I'll explain later, but listen she told me something bad is gonna happen..." "She just told you now like right now? In your, your mind?" Raine stuttered, "Yes! I know how it sounds Raine, just bleddy trust me!" I snapped, "How can she trust you when you're shouting at her?" Cal hissed. Raine was silent as I stepped towards him... keep control Breath My angry was hot...super white hot...the voices were raging, Calm "Shut it." I hissed at him and then he chuckled, "Let's ask her Raine do ya trust Rev?" He asked. The room was silent, then, "I...I...kinda," She shuttered, "She's scared of you." Cal muttered. I wanted to punch him, but I stepped back towards Raine and bent down in front of her. She stared at me with her red and blue eyes, so round and filled with so many emotions... She was my weakness. My angry was gone now in a breath. She was my strength. I reached out and let my fingers play in her blond hair, "Don't be scared of me. I would never hurt you. I promise. Do you believe me?" I whispered, ignoring the snort from Cal. Raine nodded, "I'm sorry." She whispered. Raine reached out and grabbed my hand, sending a wave of thoughts to me. I know he will, I think I lov... I pulled my hand away from hers, away from her thoughts which I couldn't cope with right now. The sound of long heavy footsteps smashing down on wood interrupted my thoughts. On a breath of a cold air I heard it. A voice, deep and nasty, pure black. Crazy. It broke into my mind with a ice cube chill. /I/ KILL. On the blood there's a knife, with a knife and blood. Bitches and slags. I'll KILL them all. I WILL KILL YOU ALL!./I/ Shit. Because this wasn't happening. I'd heard that voice before, not in my mind though, "Raine get in the corner." "Whats the matter?" She asked, "Just get in the corner." I stared at Cal, "You as well." Cal ignored me. "Suit yourself then." I muttered, "What's wrong Rev?" I stood in front of her, So much for Raine not needing protecting. KILL. Slags. Ha. Blood. Scared now little boy arn't ya. Scared of me now. 3...2..1...SLAM! SLAM. The door broke off it's hinges. I stiffened and braced myself, staring at the figure of a man in the doorway. Raine screamed. A single noise in the room. Cal didn't move. The man stepped through in his usual comrade green outfit, his head was still bald but now his whole skin was Christmas cherry red. Filled with dozens of scars, stitches and open puss filled cuts. Black weeping eyes gleamed in the dark shadows, his body was lumpy, like someone had stuck him back together with wrong body bits and the smell of s**t and rancid meat filled the room. When people die. They die... "Miss me boy?" He snarled revealing sharp pointed black teeth. I shuddered. How the f**k had this happened? The shadows around him seemed to cling to his body and circle around him. These were pure evil shadows pulsing in the dark, not like Sky, Finally I was mad now. "Hardly." I hissed. He laughed and stared at me. His black eyes swallowing me whole, "You're gonna pay boy. Really slowly for killing me. Starting now." He stepped forwards in a flash and grabbed my hands. I screamed as a million rages of electricity seemed to snap up inside my body. He was laughing. Scar was laughing... Shit. I pulled from his grip and swung a fist at his face, it splashed on his puss covered cuts, "You bastard." He shouted and stepped back, "You're stronger boy, but I feel it inside you. A million sparks of rage..." He stopped talking but I still heard him. Heard him whispering in my brain, "You want to hurt them. Feel the power as you kill. Feel the strength and live inside it. You and me we could start wars and finish them. We are the new humans of this world." His words echoed in my head and I felt myself losing who I was. I was a new human. A new stronger advanced life. No one deserved to live under me. I was a king. I could escape here and kill every guard. Scar smiled at me, "Oh this is so gonna hurt you boy." He laughed and sent the pulsing shadows towards me with a flick of his hand.
