Vaughn's POV

I never expected Mala to choose to enter my mind. I feel terrible that she thinks I could ever love another the way I love her. She is special and I will remind her of that when she had the charms to process everything. I'm going to find my missing pack members if it's the last thing I do.

I was in the kitchen of that diner I'd been working at since I got out of the hospital with amnesia. I smelled this scent that felt familiar and began having memory flashes. After the second visit to the diner, I remembered I had a son, but I still couldn't remember everything. Then that horrible witch came into the diner and all the memories hit me at once. I made all the sandwich trays she asked for and when she gathered them in bags I followed her out. I am sure she sensed me behind her at one point. I feel my wolf start to awaken. I realize she went dormant after someone tried to kidnap me and my mate.

Flashback

My dearest Destiny that was a lovely dinner. I always enjoy spending time visiting the neighboring pack. When Mala comes of age she and our son will mate and our 2 packs will be permanent alliances. We have great reason to celebrate. Yes, we do my sweet Robert. It is good that our loving son has been blessed with such a beautiful mate as Mala. Too bad we have to wait so long for her b to come of age. Well, at least we were able to come to take a stroll and have some yummy pie at that quaint dinner. Love get behind me, please. We have company I sense some dark magic present.

We both started to shift and Robert was shot. I let my defenses down when I started nudging him trying to get him up. I covered him with my body to try to protect him from being shot again. That's when I realize my handsome mate was shot by a tranquilizer dart. Then everything goes black as I realize that 1 Astan Black has hit me with something hard in the back of my head. Astan and Emma kidn*pped my mate but why?

I woke up alone in the hospital with no memories. I got a job at that quaint diner after being released from the hospital about 6 months later.

Present time

I made this witch teleport me here so I could try to find my mate and find out what this crazy woman is up to. I see her get a gun from behind a bookshelf. She left me sitting here in the Pinewood pack basement. I wonder why she is here. I did not know there was anything down here. I hear her walking down a long corridor. I hear keys clanking and a door open. I need to hide away from these bags. I don't know what she's doing here yet. Now I hear someone coming. The footsteps are lighter but she still smells human or witch. She looks young and is very pretty. She is getting all the baby stuff. What kind of being would lock a mother and baby away in a dungeon? I need to stay hidden and try to hear more of what's going on. I don't even know who the Alpha is of this territory. Besides Grace has not completely awakened. Okay, she took quite a bit of baby stuff I'm going to get closer. Oh oh, I can smell mate. Thank Goddess he's still alive. I hear her talking about that girl being my son's wife and that baby being his. How could that be he is destined to be with Mala? Dear Goddess what has happened while I was gone? She told that girl to call her auntie. I am going to have to do some recon after this and access who is who. I will wait to say something to my wonderful mate. Oh, how I miss him. Well, here the girl named Ella comes for the trays of sandwiches. I found her baby's name is Grace Faith. Apparently she knows my son or she knows my wolf's name is Grace. She seems sweet it is going to be hard to hate this girl. Obviously she has some good in her. Well, that evil Emma Black kept her word and allowed my mate to see his precious grandchild up close. I hear her getting ready to leave I'd better hide. She didn't walk out she must have teleported. Now let me see where that key is to those cells. Found it here behind the bookshelf.

I hear a noise. Some yelling and roaring. I can't help them I can't fight dark magic without my wolf. Is that LeRoy I hear? oh, Goddess this man is threatening his daughter Mala. Wait that is Astan Black and he was disguised as LeRoy. Oh my, what has happened here? Oh gosh, he left as quickly as he came. I wonder why he needed LeRoy's sweat. I have so many questions. I'll start by walking up this long corridor and see who is here.

I get to the cells and see three cells with people in them. In the first cell are that young woman and her baby. The baby resembles my son, but how? The second cell is my loving mate Robert. and my son's friend Mark. In the final call are LeRoy and Nilo's father Eldon. Robert scents me as I approach. My wolf is feeling more awakened with her mate near. So many questions.
